I had run out of my favorite catfish bait chicken liver. So while I was in the grocery store. NO CHICKEN LIVERS! I ask counter man. He said no but why dont you try beef kidneys, it's all we have like that. So I bought a 2 lb package took it home, chopped it up to hook size pieces froze it. I used it and the 🐱 s loved it! I could catch 2 🐟 on the same piece. No bag no string no extras just hook it on!

Thanks for the info - makes sense. Guts are guts just some stinkier-other pieces more flexible. Have used beef liver and even better was elk liver but would rather eat that myself.

I've fished with the chicken hearts and gizzards - they work. Never used a beef kidney, but why not? Thanks.

I've never seen beef kidneys while looking for fishing bait. Just beef liver, chicken livers, shrimp, chicken gizzards, smelt. Wonder who would sell beef kidneys in WV?

Been awhile since I fished for cats but when I did I used chicken skin. Stayed on the hook really well and caught lots of cats. Anyone else use it?

Never used beef kidneys before but I can see them working. I use live or cut bluegills for my go to bait for flatheads.

We use mainly chicken liver but, we've also used beef liver, pheasant liver, pheasant hearts, creek chubs. I'll try the kidney if it can be found. I've had an order in for a case of chicken liver for almost three months. Nobody has any.
Thanks for the info on kidneys.
