Be sure you have 2 good flashlights
Never tried shrimp but don't see why they wouldn't
May depend on what you are fishing for.. me,, I like the large flat heads
No stigma here I use worms (live) and Bream more than anything else and I'm old
Don't cut em up. Use em whole, if it's bigun's that you want, then use blg bluegill.
I'm not an experienced fly Fisher, I've never had any hook close up like U R describing. Spread open just a little. Hooks are highly tempered and break whenever bent very much at all
A little George is the bait I usually cast to those type especially seadoo's & skier's
Yeah, I've been using 14 lbs. Cajun line for my leaders this year, 8 lbs. on some of em. Having good luck on catching the fish I'm after. I fish alot at night but fish during the day too. Good luck with yours.
Your leader is very important, it is the closest part of your tackle to your bait. Besides the hook. Also my final lead is 5 to 10 Lbs. lighter so, depending on the rig, I'll just lose the hook if hung up & not the whole thing. In the rivers I fish there are alot of stone and rock outcropping so my leaders are allways mono it seems to hold up better and disapears in the water very well. Rite now I'm using red mono and catching fish.
Lew's Speed Spin. I believe they are made by Browning now.
Tie a snapswivel on your line. Catfish:run a long (18")leader with drop weight orslip weight on it. Tie hook on one end loop on the other. Place loop on snap. Topwater: remove leader and put lure on snap. I know you get better action tied direct but this is fast & you can change to anything you want. You can tie leader to lure with loop on the other end and put loop onto snap.
Palomar is the knot that I use the most. Sometimes Bimini twist on lures. Double Palomar on braid or more twist
Anyone know why bait (minnows, crayfish, rockworms, etc) live longer when kept in styrofoam containers?
I will use braid on limb hooks and jugs. All my reels get mono.
