My friend and I were debating the other day what the “ manliest” fish to go for was, and I wanted to hear your guys opinions! Separate by salt and fresh or combine dosent matter!

Where I am, it's carp. Nothing is native and the only fish that gets big enough to satiate the want for a saltwater grade fight are carp.

Carp are underrated.. especially on the fly. Ther basically bonefish.

Bluegill, or similar panfish... best way to teach a kid to fish which is about the manliest thing you can do in my opinion.

Not the response I was necessarily expecting but hey! To each their own.

Catfish for men the manliest of men.

Nothing like chucking out smelly bait and waiting for the bell to ring while you’re cracking a cold one. Joking aside I don’t necessarily love catfish but if you love it that’s what matters!

Handlining Billfish is pretty nuts.

Hand lining sharks.
It can be done.
There's nothing like a fish strike on a cuban yoyo. You feel every single move it makes. The battle is infinitely more connected and intimate, the motions you make to let out line or reel it in have so much intention behind them. The smallest shake or thrash comes through clearly, an attempt to hide in cover, anything.
Doing that with a shark would be unreal.
