I caught a lot of fish on that exact line years ago. But it was mainly bass and various bream in Alabama.

Amazing line you could pull up an anchor with only 6lbs test

I used red braid all last season, fished mostly shallow ponds and creeks. It's a good compromise between visibility and subtlety. Supposedly red line is invisible underwater, but I don't buy that because it doesn't make sense from a physics perspective. Water absorbs strongest in the red spectrum of visible light, so if anything, it would simply appear black underwater. Anyways, I always use fluoro leader so it doesn't matter much. Would go with lighter line for trout.

I recently fished with some mr crappie high vis because it was cheap. Kept about a dozen fish in shallow clear water. Mostly bream and 3 catfish. Seemed like every bass under 8 inches in the lake hit my baits too. Probably going to switch to that line for all my reels now.

I use that stuff shallow for sturgeon leaders. For how cheap it is it’s actually quite impressive.

I’m a big fan of Cajun line. I did a lot of fishing in a river that is known for snags and good sized Saugeye and flatheads. I used the 10 lb line and It could take a beating in the rocks and still brought up big fish. Also, very low memory.

Must be a warmwater thing. Can't remember ever seeing red-colored line (of any kind, mono,braid..) in an Oregon tackle shop.( My ex-wife will verify that I have been to ALL of them ! lol !) My research regarding color recognition by fish has so far been regarding lures. Ideally, fish shouldn't even be aware that there IS a line attached to the thing they want to eat. The icthyology professor that wrote the most informative article (sorry I don't have a reference for you) says 99% of fish see pretty much everything as black once you get below 6 feet. Most salmonids (trout)and surprisingly... large mouth bass (!)appear to be most aware of color at any depth beyond that 6ft.mark. Sometimes makes me question my tackle/lure collection that includes my favorite lures in EVERY color and size they have made thus far. Maybe I should have just stuck w/ black, could've bought a bigger (better) boat !

Yeah, I've been using 14 lbs. Cajun line for my leaders this year, 8 lbs. on some of em. Having good luck on catching the fish I'm after. I fish alot at night but fish during the day too. Good luck with yours.

Hate say this, but with all the new gear out there, I like to co'-ordinate my rods reels and line!!But I use flourcarbon leaders on every line color except lo-green,moss green and browns or black braid!!Bass are not fashion conscious, but I like to " match" LOL!!
