I have a Jackson Cuda 12 and it’s perfect. Tracks great and I paddle for hours on the mosquito lagoon.
I’ve owned many kayaks, including wilderness systems and others.
By far the Jackson is my choice.
Oh , don’t think I haven’t been swamped a time or two. But I endeavor to persevere and mostly don’t let it ruin my fishing.
Sometimes I will hit the surf if it’s a calm day .
No boats in the surf.
Thanks plumbob for the response.
And the advice. I always wear my life vest per orders of my wife of 46 years.
The places I fish boats can’t go so no worries.
Hey everyone ,
August will be the 3rd Anniversary of my 22nd birthday so I’ve been fishing for 60 years. I fish inshore saltwater every weekend.
I’m a Florida boy and kayak fishing is my passion.
Look forward to your post and who knows I might learn something.
A low fly by pelican snagged my line and ruined my perfect cast and my morning fishing.
Had to chase it down and throw a towel over its head to untangle it’s feet.
I look both ways before I cast now !
Check out yak attack gear on line. You won’t believe the endless items to rig your yak to the max for fishing.

Time to try mosquito lagoon for some monster reds !
Awesome!
I caught stripes in lake laneer in Georgia.
They are quite the line stretchers.
Yep
They get big in the lagoon because they live here and spawn here .
The salinity of the water is such that they lay their eggs here and not in the ocean.
Nothing like snagging a big ole bull red in a kayak !
48 inch redfish in mosquito lagoon .
From my Jackson kayak .
That’s right !
Works great , but look out for that prop !
I fish inshore saltwater every weekend and have used Lews for the past six months without a problem.
But I take very good care of them and they take care of me .
