What was the best fight you ever had reeling in a fish?
For me, it would be with a well sized Southern Skate. They anchor themselves to the ground when hooked, so it feels like you hooked a log. Once unstuck from the ground, they take off swimming, those wings can provide some real power! Haven't been able to go back to SC in a while, but I hope to soon!

Skates and rays are cool but annoying because they can bury in so well. Mine is going to be a massive bluefish for now. Those things can fight like no other. I thought i was bringing in a nice striper but this thing just kept running and running and runninggggg. I finally got him close and the captain came down to gaff it, andddd dropped it. It was too big to eat anyway somewhere in the 30-36" range.

Yep, it’s bluefish for me, too. I’ve caught some stripers in the 20 pound range, but a bluefish even half that size... beasts

I thought i was landing the striper of the day. It was more like I fish storied the bluefish of the whole season. Im glad hes still out there though. I know they would have made me keep it.

Perch fishing with an ultralight. A pike hammered the perch and I fought it for about 10 minutes before it finally let go. Just got a glimpse of him at the surface.
Didn’t land it, but my drag got a workout. That poor perch was messed up.

18 lb carp out on the mouth of the Huron River on Lake Eerie.
Took 40 minutes to bring in with 10lb test on a spinner rig.

While fishing the south bay by candlestick i hooked a batray maybe 40 -45lbs
I hooked him on a med/ light rod with @14 lb mono. On a conventional reel.
There was another fisherman there and he timed the fight at.53 minutes
I have a trick to move skate and rayswhen they hold the bottom just pull back on your pool so there's a arch and it's very tight then with your free hand start slapping your pole on the butt.of the pole
