Have used barbless hooks for over 30+ years for many species from sturgeon to bluegill/bream;I have not noticed any significant difference in the catch and net/land rate. They are much safer when smaller children are fishing with you. As mentioned before, should anyone get hooked, they are very easy to remove. Whether you buy them Barbless or pinch the barbs down, they work very well.
Tight lines and many memories for you and your daughter.
Salamander, works great for bass and bottom jigging for lake trout
Like déjà vu all over again!!!

I saw these at Sportsman’s Warehouse yesterday. Has anyone used them. What kind of fish do they catch?
Hey Craig,
Myself I have used them for both salmon and steelhead in the Columbia River. They have worked well on both species, but best on salmon. The action they impart would, I think, work on any decent sized fish.
Tight Lines and happy fishing.
Great story; excellent pics! Thanks for sharing...
Really great fish. Glad to hear they’re still swimming free. My largest here in Washington is 27 1/2 inches. 11 1/2 lbs. it to is still out there in the Columbia River. Took measurements and had a graphite replica made. Tight lines to all
Nice fish, looks like you had a great time. Thanks for the picture. Please keep them coming.
Really nice fish, great breakfast with fried potatoes & eggs.
Do you have something against eating bait instead of catfish? Just talkin turkey...
If I were an Ugly Stix I would reply that it’s a two way street.... just sayin
Wow, Robert, A memorable part of history that needed to be shared with us younger kids( I’m 30% through my 8th decade)and the rest of our younger generations. Stay healthy and keep it coming...

Good luck. I will be shocked if you’re not satisfied with your selection.
Send pics.
I agree with OJ... have 10+ ugly sticks; dfrnt lengths & actions. Always have one as a backup to my higher end rods. Have never been let down by them. Pics will be greatly appreciated!!!
That’s great... I didn’t realize that Washington was so regressive. I had a hunch but refused to believe it to be true.
Happy, healthy fishing.
