Rember them all.

About six months ago I bought a dimmer switch and roll down windows. They were attached to a Mustang Sports Sprint just like the one I bought new in 1967. What a joy to drive!

Went to Bimini Sunday for two and half days of fishing. Wind was big and the seas worse. Decided to come back to Ft Lauderdale a day early. The crossing was really rough.

We did manage to catch a good number of yellowtail and several blue runners.

I booked a peacock bas trip yesterday in the Everglades.Had a great guide and he put us on lots of fish. Caught peacock bass, two gar, five or six large mouth bass, and several Oscars like those in an aquarium.

Since we were inland no rough seas!

Look, I may have started this by using southern lingo. For me, and I think most in the south, “good ole boy” is an endearing term. I intended to project that we have a number of immigrants - Spanish speaking AND others - in the country that are hard working, law abiding (except possibly i*********n l*ws) folks. I did not intend to offend anyone. It appears I could have done better.

Now, for the record, let me state my position on immigration to be clear. I am for legal immigration. I don’t know how many immigrants we should allow to come here each year, but there are people who are much smarter than I who can produce that number. I am for all the legal immigration determined to be allowed. We are a nation of laws, and we should abide by those laws - all of them - in all areas. No one should be allowed to pick and choose which laws are followed and which are ignored. Legal immigration makes us better!

Now finally to the attack on MAGA. First let me say I am an independent and wish neither of the two choices we have for President were running. I think BOTH parties could do better. As an independent I try to see both sides and make an informed decision. I don’t agree with either party all the time. I believe, for the most part, members of both parties - including the MAGA folks - BELIEVE they are doing what is right for the country, and they have that right. We shouldn’t be choosing sides, talking down to each other, or blaming the other side of trying to end democracy. We need to be civil and try to see and understand the other side. No body is right all the time.

Plum, I hope this is the reset you wanted.

I worked, for many years, for a guy that was an avid bream fisher in the Alabama/Tensaw delta. He would fish based on the water level at the Claiborne dam. I have forgotten what level he wanted to go fishing. Any of you lower Alabama fishermen watch that level? Can you share the range.

Thanks.

We’ve had an influx of another type of good ole boys in Alabama (and other states) the past few years. I think most are honest, hard working folks. We just need to only allow folks in legally and they should learn English.

Oz is right about listening for the warning when they open the flood gates. I got caught in it once the water comes up SWIFTLY and VERY QUICKLY!

Haven’t been this year. I live in south Alabama but have a cabin south of Blue Ridge.

I think this is about the start of the delayed harvest when the state stocks parts of the Tococa River. Above Lake Blue Ridge it will be at Sandy Bottom. They also stock several places below the dam. One is at the park right below the dam. Pretty good wading and good parking. I would suggest you not go there on Saturday mornings during delayed harvest; too crowded!

There is a fly shop in downtown Blue Ridge, and those guys are helpful. They can hook you up with a guide if you like. For first trip might be a good idea. There are several private streams with trophies that the shop can help you with.

Where do you live in GA?

Thank you for your kind words in your time of sorrow. I am sorry for your loss and pray you find comfort in your fondest memories of her.

Also thanks to all of the Stage member’s thoughts and prayers for not only me, but others afflicted by cancer. What great members in this group.

BD I have stage four prostate cancer, and responding well to treatment. I can tell you support and prayers of friends and family mean the world. A kind word or a well placed smile goes a long way when I am having a bad day. My positive outlook on life also helps. I try to make each day a good one.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Peaches. May God bless you both.

Got a 137 pound halibut in Alaska in 1994 I think. Don’t have any digital pics. On same trip I got a large king that the guide said weighed about 55 pounds. We couldn’t boat it because king season was out.

Both are my best for total weight.

Nice fish.

Ice fishing has been on my bucket list ever I saw Grumpy Old Men (25 years ago?) which has to be in the top ten all time movies. I have a good friend who grew up and lives in Minnesota who doesn’t ice fish. He is a good fisherman and we have been to Canada 8 or 10 times. But, he says ice fishing is just an excuse to drink (who ever needed an excuse if they really wanted a drink?).

I would be interested in trading a couple days of inshore fishing on the AL Gulf Coast for a couple days ice fishing.
