Went to Bimini Sunday for two and half days of fishing. Wind was big and the seas worse. Decided to come back to Ft Lauderdale a day early. The crossing was really rough.
We did manage to catch a good number of yellowtail and several blue runners.
I booked a peacock bas trip yesterday in the Everglades.Had a great guide and he put us on lots of fish. Caught peacock bass, two gar, five or six large mouth bass, and several Oscars like those in an aquarium.
Since we were inland no rough seas!
Nice fish. I have heard about the Oscar's and Peacock bass in the Everglades now. I was in Miramar for a week on business several years back and was itching to try to get out and try to catch a Peacock bass while there but could not squeeze it in my schedule. In fact, I used this app to view pictures of some nice ones that were caught near where I was staying.
I know that the Oscar's are invasive, transplanted from someone's aquarium, like the snakes down there. However, I think the Peacock bass were actually stocked by FNR. Does anybody know the history on that?

Sorry you got blown out of Bimini WB, that's a bucket list trip for me.
It looks like you made up for it nicely though, in the Glades. Peacock Bass are another bucket list fish for me. Thanks for sharing.

Nice post WB. Caught an Oscar before but never a Peacock.
Nice 👍 I caught, tagged and released a blue runner in NJ last year.
