Hey Ranger, what triggers those fish to bite?
Hi guys, just an FYI:Upcoming Virtual Public Meeting on California's White Sturgeon Fishery
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is holding a virtual public meeting on California’s White Sturgeon fishery on May 16, from 5:30-7:30 pm. At this meeting, you’ll learn about White Sturgeon biology, fishery history, current status and management, and challenges they face. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask CDFW scientists questions about sturgeon and provide input on their present and future hopes for the fishery.

I think the previous owner should've bought some chew toys for his dog, instead of a fishing pole.
Hey Ranger, what lake is that?
Happened to me once, Willi, when my d.mb .ss tried to take a trebble out of a pissed off lingcod's mouth! Only the 2 out of three hooks were located in my index and middle fingers, and I was able push the tips/barbs out the other side, and cut them off, and keep fishing. Can you say "Throbbing pain"!!?? Glad you got medical attention.
My brother went out of that harbor and did well on a chartered "combo" trip. Not sure about depth, or locations, but a little chat at the local bait shop might produce some good intel. Good luck.
Better hurry on the crab, Stab; going to shut down crabbing early because of entangled whales. I believe I heard April 7th, or there abouts. And I think it's for both commercial and sport because they didn't mention either/or. Good luck; Bodega is a good bet!
Missed that invite, Saw. Can you send again?
Got out early to the Riverside Marina area of the Delta on Tuesday, and headed straight for some discharge pipes that were pumping from some farmer's field. First cast with a shad swimbait handed me this 8lb fighter, followed by a 4lber 2 casts later. My buddy used the same rod and bait and pulled a 4lb black bass after my striper limit. Slow going the rest of the day for both of us. Still...
That was pretty B-D A--! Hacksaw!!
Just looked up "grinnel fish recipes" on line. You might want to have a look
Great story of the "Beast of Busco"! Thanks for sharing the Wiki link, Spirit.
