Hello stagers,
Here's a trivia question for you.
What day of the week was named after Oden, the head God of Norse Mythology.
At least you have a one in seven chance.
Commander Bell out

I'll go with Thursday since my grandson was named after Odin the God of Norse Mythology.

I drove by glassy Tomales Bay yesterday and was wondering about fishing the bay. Is it safe to fish from an 12 ft inflatable raft with electric motor? What can you catch and what time of year is best? Are there any Tomales Bay fisherman out there?

It's been many years but we used to fish there quite a bit. On a nice day you should be ok with your 12 footer.
We have caught Halibut, crabs, Bat Rays and a bunch of Leopard Sharks. We would target Leopard Sharks down near
Inverness on an out going tide and almost always did well.

Have not fished there in 25 years so don't know how it is now. It's a beautiful area so give it a try you won't
be disappointed. Good Luck!

Hi Bonnie, my wife and I are both originally from Yucaipa. We fish Mammoth area 3-4 times a year. There are hundreds of good places to fish in the area. When we take the grandkids we usually fish Lake Mary or George from the shore and do very well with quality trout. The Bait and Tackel store in town are very friendly and always have the latest info on where and how.

OK guys. I have a math problem.
I owned my boat for 16 years 3 months.
That's 204 weeks.
Out of all those weeks I USUALLY went fishin at least 1 time every week. Sometimes I went 2, 3 and sometimes 4 times in a given week.
There also were times that I couldn't go out at all during a given week.
MOST of the times when I went out it was for at least 8 hours, sometimes more but not always. I rarely ever went for less than 4 or 5 hours.
NOW, here's the math problem.
How many hours would you say I probly had on my motor using those figures of 204 weeks of ownership and the amount of hours I might average for the year X 16 years + 3 months?
Look forward to the answers.
OK guys. I have a math problem. br I owned my boa... (show quote)

was at Mammoth two weeks ago. Streams and rivers are high and fast and tough to fish. Lakes in the basin were frozen or partially frozen, most likely OK by now. Convict and all the June Lake Lake's were open and fishing OK depending on the planting schedule. We caught a few at Inlet #2 on Bishop Creek. Good luck!

I used the cherry wood and it turned out fine. I'm not sure I notice a difference between fruit tree woods. Maybe if I used hickory or mesquite the difference would hit me. I'm still experimenting and learning.

Question for you all, do you soak the wood chips? I have been but recently read you don't have to.

All the fruit and nut woods work well. My favorite is Curl Leaf Mt Mahogany. It's hard to find but imparts a uniquely rich flavor particularly on salmon and pork. I've been using it for 40 years and never been disappointed. I never soak but I use chunks not chips. Good luck with your smoking project!

Forgot. We got approximately 60 in 2 hours fishing time

We are going to Mammoth this weekend. Did you fish from the bank or from a boat. Always heard about the Perch fishing in Crowley but never tried it. Looks like it's worth a try. Thanks for any additional info.

I take my grandson there and have done pretty well. They plant the pond with really nice trout from Lassen Hatchery. They plant through the Winter months and usually stop in the spring when the water warms. Weekly plants are usually on Thursdays or Fridays. Weekends are crowded and fishing pressure is high. If you get there at the right time you will be rewarded. Good Luck!

Pretty accurate WAF scoring system. Only thing I could add is to remember that plus points need to be redeemed right away or they disappear. The negative bad points are cumulative and never go away.

The theories, conspiracies and stories about JFK's assignation are too many to count. The best most accurate account I have found is in the book The Man Who Killed Kennedy/ The Case Against LBJ by Roger Stone. This is a must read if you're interested in the subject. Especially for you Texans, All the names, faces and events of the time will be familiar. The undeniable facts outlined point in only one direction.

Good shooting Ben! If you carry everyday you need to be really confident in you abilities. We go to the range 2 x week and try to hone our skills. When we get tired of putting holes in paper we put clay birds on the berm at 50 yards and test our marksmanship. If you can bust them at 50 yards you sure as hell can make decent paper groups, just don't expect to break them every time.
