I fish most of the time alone I like it because when I catch a fish{BASS} I might cast 15 to 20 times back in the same place and most people want to keep moving, also I get up around 4 o'clock and the people I fish with don't want to get up that early.I do keep my PFD on while on the water.

Just getting into baitcasting. I prefer reeling my spinning set ups with my dominant (right) hand but I’ve never cared enough to switch the handles on my spinning gear (my son is left-handed so I have some spinning reels set up for him).

I find switching hands after casting a baitcaster a little awkward so I was thinking about getting a left-handed reel so I don’t have to switch.

Wondering how many of you baitcast fisherman reel with your dominant hand, other hand, or don’t care which one.

Thanks.

Just getting into baitcasting. I prefer reeling my... (show quote)

I started out with a left hand bait caster, that was in the late 70s and they were hard to find and coast more than the right handed reels but I did not want to switch hands and yes I am right handed. My open face spinning has the handle on the left also it just feels right.🎣

I have been using JOF Braided Fishing line for years and I have not found any other line I like better. I Use 30# or 80# depending on what I throw.

I fish all braided line on all my reels and I tie directly to the spool and use Scotch tape unless it has a peg made on the spool I have never had a problem.

So I bought a few budget rods with reels on them from a big box and one of them wont cast farther than like 15 feet no matter the weight on the line. Is this just garbage line or am I doing something wrong? I can manually unspool it longer then it casts but it won't ever throw out farther.

What would be real nice is for you to tell what kind of reel and the line on it is!!!

Lightfoot : I have been fishing for a long time I am 71 and I have my drag set as tight as it will go on my casting and spinning reel, I will loosen it when I start to fight the fish depending how hard it fights. My spinning reel has the drag adjuster on the rear of the reel so it makes it easy and I use braid on all my reels and it works for me.

I use 30# braid on all my reels for all lures but top water and then it is 50# and I use straight braid that works for me! I throw light lures on a open face!

If you have a Pflueger President XT30 that is a spinning reel and you should be able to throw it a lot further than that something is wrong😒

I have not heard of any Tires made in America in DECADES. Might be American owned or an American that owns the company. You will find Tires are made overseas.

Cooper Tires manufactures its tires in three different states, supporting local economies. They have production facilities in Findlay, Ohio; Texarkana, Arkansas; and Tulepo, Mississippi. Cooper also operates a facility for producing components of tires in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

The company’s corporate headquarters is also located in Findlay, Ohio.
