Anyone who catches and eats frogs, do you only eat the legs or are there any other parts worth eating? Is the fat on the body edible?

My family has some property on a lake in Western WA state. We recently found some huge bullfrogs that we want to eat. They are American Bullfrogs.

They're not poison. Eat all you want, I don't think there are any rules. But no, generally you just eat the legs. And be sure to skin em. Frog skin is not good eats.

it has been awhile since I ate frogs since I haven't even seen a descent size bull frog here in western Washington like we caught in Missouri, but back in the day we just cut off the head, gutted and skinned them and fried them up I remember they tasted pretty good. We caught lots of them just swinging a gold spoon with a red rubber worm dangling from the hook

They are not hard to catch. Go out at night with a flash light, shine it in their eyes and grab em throw em in a sack. If you've never eaten frog, it is a very mild flavored meat, I'd say it's pretty bland. Folks say it tastes like chicken. Not to me. Don't taste like much of anything. Ever eaten octopus? Kinda like that. It tastes like whatever you cook it in - not a strong flavor at all.

I only ate the hind legs. If you have room to cast they're fun to catch on a fly rod. Drop any kind of buggy looking thing within a foot and they're on it. Fight like a big bluegill.

We cut the head off gut them and fry the whole thing.
Down here you have to be careful when shining for frogs.
We have other creatures who like frogs too. Water moccasins and gators.
We grab frogs with our bare hands so you have to be careful.

No one waste meat here in downtown Louisiana! Skin everything, except the head, and grill, make a red gravy with the whole frog, or just fry like OS does. Or just cook the hind legs, all good.

Eating the legs only you are wasting half the meat ! Cut off the back legs and then the rest of the Frog as you see fit , but , don't throw the front half away as it tasts just like the back and it contains just as much meat only smaller pieces !

We always just ate the legs and used a long cane pole with a treble hook and a piece of red cloth on it and either at dusk or night time with a light on them. They think its a fly of some type and really attack them. Really fun to catch .

There's not much meat on anything but the back legs
