Hi Everyone! I am Stan Westfall, 66, in NC and handicapped due to a spinal injury in 2015. I get around via an electric power chair. My fiancée is from Florida and coming to get me soon. We are open to moving anywhere to Florida except the panhandle and the keys. We will definitely be getting a pontoon or tritoon so will be only looking for freshwater lake property. We are looking at 21 to 24 foot boats and we will use it for just relaxing some days and fishing some days. Of course it would have to be modified to accommodate my power chair being the captain's chair. If any of you have had to have special mods done to your boat, I would love to hear from you! Happy Fishing!

I have a bass boat so that is really no help i think the best boat for you is a pontoon boat they have a open gate at the bow and most of the seats are removable so you should be able use your power chain and drive right up to the captain spot to drive the boat and have power trolling motor just push a bottom and you can get power achors on the back and push another button but remeber ever thing cost Break Out Another Thousand that how we spell boat.

I see the Obalus reels advertised! I have considered trying a baitcaster rig and wonder if anyone has any experience with Obalus. I don't want to order a reel and wait months to receive it nor do I want to but junk. I realize that a $49 reel is nit going to be of the highest quality but thought it might be a good starting point.

why not go to walmart pick a rod and reel up if you don't like just bring it back no issue. I only use bait casters all my reels are lewis and my rods are alstars yes this is all for bass fishing. but when i salt water fish i do use spinners
reels mitchel reels and walmart rods if they break bring it back or just buy another can't beat the price.

hope this helps

Hi Roy
You can go to a book store like Banes and noble and buy a florida detail topographic maps or just try to look up on line . but for me i like the paper book . So the nearest lake i found is lake panasoffkee has 1 boat ramp and bait store
i don't know if you have a boat or they might rent them. There are a bunch of lakes just north of you in Floral city /
Inverness has 2 boat ramps off of state road 41. i have not fished them in 10 years. hope that helps.

Kudos and good morning to my walking encyclopedias of fishing.
In the past I have seen people use WD-40 before rinsing off their fishing gear to attack or loosen any salt or sand and suggest that it is good for the line even to go as far saying good attractant for fish. Sounds fishy to me has anyone used or tried on their equipment.

And pondering using 30 lb floral carbon for mainline some say the diameter is too large will coil off spinning reel and some say it's a softer material and breaks easier I say I take it to the experts who may have knowledge of this. As always I appreciate your knowledge and any feedback you may have. thank you
