G'day folks. Whiting fishing has been spectacular last couple of weeks but after high winds and rough water I'm wondering what the effect might be on whitings movement. Thanks.

Good question Fear. They're catching then in NC and you in Florida. Maybe I better go see what there doing here. The wind has been blowing strong the past few days. Are you surf fishing or the ICW??

Thanks. Not surf but pier only. It is a 3/4 mile walk to the pier and I really didn't want to walk down with my rod and cooler unless I knew they were still around. Actually walked down to see how the guys were doing and they did get one whiting so they are there. 2 hammerhead, a Bonita and a catfish also but the water is very murky. Will try this evening perhaps.

Hey, don't know who you directed your question to, but I'm in Bay county Russel Fields per. Whitings great yesterday but nothing today; in fact the fish pitched a shutout on all counts today. 😔

He puts on fish fries at the senior centers. And gives them to friends who can't get out fishing.

That's a nice mess of Whiting. My favorite recipe for them is mix a sauce of either mayo or ranch, Dijon mustard, garlic powder or fresh garlic even better, pinch or two cayenne, onion powder & Parmesan Cheese, then a pinch of salt to your likin'. Rub it on dry filets then roll in panko. We spray them with coconut oil & air fry til dark golden. But deep fried they're hard to put down too. We had'em thick as here two & 3 years ago but they didn't (or haven't) shown this year. Some of the biggest we've ever seen too, at least in the Panama City area. Pensacola guys reported quite a few too
