Welcome Mr. and Mrs. William Pennie,
Those of us who have a wife who likes to go fishing are pretty lucky.
I don't see many post from this part of the country.
I'm your age and have such fond memories of Lake Hopatcong (lake of many coves.)
My family vacationed there back in the '50, before it became over-developed as it is now. It's still a great place, especially weekdays after the crowds leave.
Treasure all those great moments,
Fishure
Hi Yanks,
Really great advise already given. Two things I would like to mention. One, backing up a trailer requires practice and two, batteries are HEAVY and must be maintained- charged regularly even in the off season in order to last.
Welcome Aboard, Happy New Year, Good Health and Good Luck,
Fishure
Hey,
What about the poor fruits and vegetable we eat! How do you think they feel??? Maybe
worse than the fish!
Fishure
BLW,
Live shrimp seem to always work down there.

NixsOlder,
I agree with you. I monitor this sight regularly and seldom see messages from New York in general. I haven't had anything noteworthy to post yet.
I fish the Peconic Bay out on the North Fork of Long Island and lakes and reservoirs above NYC. NYC reservoirs are an untapped resource that requires a free permit for yourself and a registered aluminum rowboat chained to a tree if you care to so. It's all done through the DEP. (NYC/DEP.GOV) ...but don't tell anyone's!

Archie,
I heard the saying, "Like fishing in a barrel" but never seen or heard of anyone fishing from a barrow, that is a 'wheel barrow." Let us know how you do.
Oh, and another thing, I've seen a lot of people using those 'wheel barrows' around holes... not fishing holes. Try not to confuse the two!
LOL,
Fishure
For your grandchildren before the dig.
Ooey-Gooey was a worm.
A wormy worm was he!
One day he climbed upon the railroad tracks.
The train he did not see...

Ruffplay,
Can't really answer your question but I will try.
The best kayak for me is probably not for you. You have to test ride/paddle them. Some large vendors have special days for the event. Check at kayak shops in your area. Kayak fishing is something you have to get used to. I found it confining and never completely relaxed standing up in it. They are also cumbersome to get off of the car roof and carry, especially when you get older unless you get a special rack and carrier (wheels) for it. Please don't let me discourage you. They are a great way to fish but know what you are getting into in more ways than one!

Anyone ever try peanut butter with jelly-fish???
This quarantine is getting to me...can you tell?
4sure, 4sure
Hi Kyla,
Offer them a peanut butter and jelly-fish sandwich with hooks next time you see them.

Confident Fisherman,
Please help! Can you please answer some questions that have been puzzling me?Over the years l have bought many, many lures and haven't found the confidence in them.
Do I have to open them up? Can you tell me exactly where the confidence is, in which part of the lure? Does size matter? Do you get more confidence in larger lures? Does price matter? Do more expensive lures have better confidence?
Still looking for confidence,
Fishure, Fishure
