I’m on the western end of LI. Long Beach area. I’m into both surf casting and boat fishing.
Hi Luca and JohnG,
I usually hit up captree and jones beach area, but open to anywhere near NYC. Any reccos?
NixsOlder,
I agree with you. I monitor this sight regularly and seldom see messages from New York in general. I haven't had anything noteworthy to post yet.
I fish the Peconic Bay out on the North Fork of Long Island and lakes and reservoirs above NYC. NYC reservoirs are an untapped resource that requires a free permit for yourself and a registered aluminum rowboat chained to a tree if you care to so. It's all done through the DEP. (NYC/DEP.GOV) ...but don't tell anyone's!

Captree and Jones Beach are both productive. I’ll pick a keeper bass now and then this time of year where I am. Also blues. There have been years when the schoolies are thick for days. This year shad have been around consistently.
Thanks for the replies all! I usually stick to captree and JB field 10 bc I have NJ plates and don't want to pay for the stupid night fishing parking permit so late in the year. Any reccos on pier fishing that don't require a parking permit are much appreciated!
