I use medium action spinning rods, preferably 6'6'' length but anywhere from 6 to 7 foot works. However if you will be trolling, the captain will supply everything needed. Good luck on your trip, fishing should be very hot up there this year. What part of Erie will you be fishing?
I am from Middlefield, approximately 30 miles east of Cleveland
Haven't had much luck fishing off the beach so far but had and excellent afternoon fishing for spot with Reel Release Charter. My first time and greatly enjoyed every minute! Any tips on how to cook them?
I am planning on leaving for Virginia beach in October. We want to try some surf fishing as we have rented an oceanfront house. I have only fished saltwater once before and an fairly unfamiliar. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Nice fish! Didn't make it out this weekend, the lake was too rough for me. Shooting for Thursday afternoon, if the wind stays down.
We mainly use like a crawler harness with nightcrawlers or Erie dearies with nightcrawlers
One of my friends on Lake Erie right now. Too bad my boat is still in the shop and I can't be out there as well!
Yes hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures here shortly. My boat is in the shop so I won't be able to get out this weekend, hopefully next week.
Thanks guys! I do most of my fishing on lake Erie which is pretty clear waters for the most part. I will definitely be using a leader from now on and hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the other guys from now on. Good luck and tight lines to all of you!
In recent years I switched all my line to braid. I never gave it a thought using about a leader, but looking back, it seems I never caught quite as much since I switched. I would appreciate some input and what to use for a leader. Thank you!
Congratulations on your four years. By the grace of God, I just had 2 years on the 9th. I never thought life could be the way it is right now. I never ended up in prison but definitely should have. I have so much to be thankful for. God bless you sir, and hopefully you'll have many more sober years ahead!
You're not alone on that one, I just had the same thing happen to me. Luckily I discovered it before I had a fish on the line. Definitely a one time happening!
I had the hook 7 a few years ago and had problems with it. It eventually quit working. I switched to humminbird helix 7 and 10, and haven't had any problems so far.
New here and wondering if anyone is fishing lake Erie between Ashtabula and Fairport Harbor area. I'm thinking of heading out Saturday but don't know if it's worth it or not yet.
