Nice set. I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it after some use. I have a Rapalla that is 2 years old and has filleted a lot of fish, but no deer.

Carpet are still in spawn around here. There are some monsters out there and you're right, they put up a great fight. Fun to catch on a light rig.

Hard to go wrong with shrimp for bait. Pyramid weights cast well and keep you in positions well. Have to adjust size to match current.

Fortunately we don't have that problem with our cardinals. Likely they're are a lot of them in your area and they are trying to fight off the competition. I assume it is the males causing the problem.
