Want to let you all know that my Mom passed this morning at about 11:00 Hoosier Time. Peacefully and with dignity. She would have been 100 in December. Last time I talked to her she was telling me that basically all the joy had passed out of her life - she is the last of three sisters and all of her few friends that she had during her life had all passed on. Nobody to talk to who had experienced the things that she had. Of course I mourn her passing, but this is the way it should be. We live, we make our mark, and then we move out the way for others to do the same. So it has always been and so it always will be. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. I thank you all for your thoughts and although a lot of you know that I do not pray, I do respect and thank those who do.

Sorry to hear that Spirit but you said it all. She’s in a much better place not struggling to enjoy her life with her peers all gone. 99 plus is a good long life and I’m sure you have lots of good memories. Treasure those and I’m hoping your doing well.

When we get older ourselves, we start losing relatives and friends. As you said, that's the way of it and one day it'll be our turn. My own Mom was overdue to leave this world, she had no quality of life at all for the last 3 or 4 years - but it still hurts. Hang in there, Spirit. You've got all the rest of us here on FS.

Sad to hear that, Paul. You may recall that my mom died less than three months ago. She was 86. It’s never easy losing a parent, but God gives us peace and hope at these times. I pray that He will wrap his arms around you today and bring you comfort. You will always have her memories in your heart to keep her close. 🙏🏻

I do remember that Randy. And if I remember correctly your family all celebrated her life and her passing when you were able. As you should have. Thank you Randy.

The picture I posted on another thread today of all our grandkids was taken the day of Mom’s memorial service, at an old train depot here in Lawrence where we had lunch and visiting after the graveside service. Mom was cremated.

I am so sorry for your loss Spirit. Treasure all the good memories, remember all the good things about Mom. My mom is 96 and lives in So. Calif. She is going through the same things, having few friends left and wondering what is left of life. My phone calls are the highlight of her week. Covid has made seeing her impossible for the past year. Again. My condolences my friend.

Hey Paul. Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. My prayers were that if she was not going to be able to make a recovery and be whole that the Lord would relieve her suffering by calling her home.
I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that.
May God grant you and your family His peace and comfort at this time. My condolences my friend. Steve.

A friend lost his dad some years back and only realized he missed him when two years later he found himself looking around the house and figured all of those areas were spots where his dad would have been.
I lost my 91yr old mother on the 24th, at 11:30pm here at the house where she wanted.

Paul, I am truly sorry for your loss. Almost 100! That is amazing. Embrace the cycle of grief as it seems to help move through it quicker. I know that you have searched genuinely and with dedication to find God. I hope your Mother has found what you seek and will one day take you there. Love you man.
