Seen striped bass. But not stripped bass. Post pictures please.

Welcome aboard Steve M. We abuse everybody for that spellingšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. Especially when they refer to strippers and not stripersšŸ¤£šŸ¤£. Seen both on the beach.

You can add bloodworms or sandworms to that this time if year if you don't mind the price. Later on add in bunker chunks

There are a ton of videos on YouTube that you should check out. Start with ā€œsurfcasters journalā€ which is a YouTube channel from Long Island. They have a bunch of very good videos explaining equipment and techniques. There are plenty other how to videos on the subject. Google surf fishing and see what comes up.
Just for starters you need a surf rod at least 10 ft long for bait fishing 8-10 ft long for throwing lures. Waders would be recommended but in the summer you probably wonā€™t need them. Local bait and tackle shops can guide you on the basic things to get you started . You donā€™t need a lot to get started , so definitely do ! There is a lot to learn though, enough to keep you engaged for the rest of your life. This is an addictive thing and often it becomes the main distraction in peopleā€™s lives. people have lost jobs and wives etc. need I go on?

Just getting started, fished off boats for years. Got drive on beach pass now retired. Either videos or reading material to put me on a successful track.

This time of year find yourself a spot or two in a back bay near where smaller bodies of water (creeks, springs, basins, canals, etc) empty into the bay. Stripers generally feed in these areas around dawn and dusk. For tackle I recommend a 7-8 foot rod, some light butails and trailers, and a few top water lures (pencil poppers, spooks, and various minnow style lures).

If sand worms or bloodworms arenā€™t working its because there are no fish , if youā€™re catching small ones try chunk bait or do both
