Who told you that? I know you can keep 2 a day or 100 lbs.

Not what they eat, but how you take care of the meat, after it is done.

Both are important. First off, get the deer skinned out as soon as possible and get the hair and blood washed off the animal. The venison we get in central Wi farm country where they get much better feed are definitely better eating than the venison we get in northern Wi where there are no farms. I love venison and the sausage and hot sticks we have made. I sure wouldn’t feed any of the hot sticks to a catfish. They prefer liver, chicken skin or night crawlers anyway.

Drift with current, vertical jigging with minnow or crawler depending on time of year. I use a 1/2 oz orange jig with a stinger hook.

Hi Mr. Fishrmans :)
I was twelve or thirteen fishing with Beth, Dad and a few
local guys. I thought I had a fish, I was so happy.

Just as he came out of the surf/water I screamed, dropped my rod and
started running lol. It wasn't funny then, but now it is :) That was the first
eel and the last I've caught.

Zoey :)

Lots of strange things in that there water. A couple things we used to catch in Wi was mud puppy’s and eelpout. Both slimy and slippery and strange looking and most people won’t touch them. I, on the other hand, was always fascinated and loved catching these stranger critters.

If you catch an eel do you think it’s a snake and shoot it too? Don’t because they are important to the eco system . Do you think there’s eel slime in crazy glue?

How can anyone mistake an eel for a snake?

Just tie your line on the spool than make a twist in the line and put that loop on the spool. Make another twist and put that over the spool in the opposite direction. Guaranteed not to slip. I have used this for years with braid.

A little snow wont hurt you. But a 5 ft rattlesnake or a hill of fire ants can ruin your day. Crappie perch one of the best tasting fish there is also walleye pike , trout , salmon and whitefish. I can see 30 foot into the water and dont have about stingrays or sharks. Barney

Heck, you have rattlesnakes in Mi and mosquitos bigger than our turkey vultures. You also have tundra swans that have been known to tip canoes over. You also have a football team that hasn’t beaten the Packers in the last 20 years or so. Just kidding you. Da UP of Mi is one of my favorite places but only in the summer ( 2 weeks in the middle of July). Can’t take anything colder than 60 degrees anymore.

Northern michigan. Never have to worry about a hurricane blowing you away or your camp flooding out. Just have to put up with a little snow for 5 months of the year. But there is always lce fishing and we have the clearest water anywhere. Fantastic fishing musky to panfish. Barney

Did you say ice......snow.....? No, I left all that a few years ago for south Florida. You may not have hurricanes but I went through 2 tornados. Lost my roof and over 100 trees in one 0f them. Now I am 26 feet above sea level ( no flooding) and warm fishing weather all year. Red fish, snook, trout, pompano, cobia, tarpon, sharks, grouper and snappers plus many more with nary a shiver.

I have been there several times fishing and it has been unbelievable. Redfish, trout, sheepshead and a great variety of salt water fish near shore and tuna, wahoo, and mahi out about 30 miles. Fish the rigs and you will catch jack cravelle, rainbow runners and amberjack. I have not fished fresh water but I have no doubt that the LM bass fishing is pretty good too.

How do you catch a snake?

These work great for the venomous or doubtful ones. You grab them and put them in a cloth bag. For the non venomous ones you can grab them by hand just behind the head.. most of them will try to bite you so be careful. You can use the grabber for them to if you want to. I like the challenge of catching them by hand but I have been bitten several times.

No they were in him, When I shot him it ran all the way through him and egg yolks came out, and he had three in him, thats as many as they lay a day.

Ok....then I would catch him and relocate him 10 - 12 miles away. I would never kill him.

Yeah, but the thought of catching sends chills down my back, I am scared of snakes. To the point that I didn't want to go in the hen house to get him out even though I knew he was dead, and If I wasn't the only one here at the time, I wouldn't have went in and got it. I'm gonna stop now before Yall get the idea that I'm a wimp.

Are you sure it was a snake eating the eggs. Many other animals love eggs. A snake swallows the egg or maybe 2 eggs but than goes off for many days to digest them. We’re the eggs completely gone or were there parts of the eggs still in the nest. If there were parts of the egg still in the nest you maybe got raccoons, rats, weasels, Fox, or even another chicken that gets to like eggs. https://youtu.be/ixbyIIJ76DE

I agree. Worth a few eggs to keep the rats and mice down. At least catch and release him. I will take all you can bring to me...
