Check for a local ascs office in your area. They can send off your sample for lab testing. They can also do soil samples . It's a county agricultural office.

I don't fish baitcasters so take this with a grain of salt. I've heard some say the black max is nice to start with but has issues with use. If you do get a baitcaster practice in the yard until you get the hang of it, cause your gonna have to overcome some bird nests in the learning curve.

Meal worms , maggots , crickets, red worms, all work great for panfish, if your going to target crappies minnows work for them. You can tip your jigs with the meal worms also.

Check the water temps if it hasn't dropped to 50 degrees the Stripers won't be as big. The sea going fish move in as the temp drops. Have you got a boat?
