Sorry, Randy ! Didn't mean YOU !
I was referring to the OTHER

Snow here again today.

You're lucky you're already in the
Attic, using nasty four-letter words
like 'snow' - have even seen the appearance here of another nasty
(in some folks' opinion) four-letter word - 'WIFE' !

(I try to keep words like those out
of my mouth and banned from my vocabulary !)

Say, kiddies ! Today is March 20th,
the first day of spring ! Hope you
folks further north/northeast of
here start getting real spring weather soon !

Weather here has been fine, but
still waiting for 'ice-out' in the
North country and the 'Rim' lakes
to start trout fishing ! Although
there are trout stocked locally in
the 'natural' lakes and 'Community' lakes/ponds, trout fishing is always better up there than around here !

Two phrases come to mind this
time of year - C'MON, SPRING !
and THINK TROUT !

Aw, c'mon Four ! Although there
is a strong resemblance between
the two, we all know that Walter
is the smarter of the two 'dummies' and would have made a much better president ! Right ?

I'd have to say that was none of their 'flockin' business, regardless of how
it should be interpreted !

Had a similar incident in my early-twenties - four of us had been out 'cruising' (with a couple of six-packs) when we pulled off onto a dirt road near a set of power-lines to 'relieve' ourselves of a few beers ! We were
all a little tipsy, and one guy gets the bright idea to climb one of several
big pine trees clustered together
in a tight group - within ten minutes,
we had four half-drunken i***ts up about 25/30 feet in the tree-tops, reaching and leaping from branch to branch and/or from tree to tree playing TAG, of all things !

One mis-step is all it took to end that game - fortunately for me, several large limbs beneath me helped break my fall, so that my injuries were all minor - just a bunch of painful
scrapes and bruises all over !

Guess I got lucky on that one - it
could have ended much worse !
Sure sobered up quick, though !

Yeah I’ve seen it done. A buddy of mine, when I was about 8, caught his shorts on fire doing it.😂

I've told this story before, but we've gotten new members since then,
so I'll post it again !

One cold, wet Saturday afternoon
my mother and I were playing cribbage and having a beer or
two at the kitchen table, when my younger brother (about 16 or 17) emerged from the bathroom in just his skivvies and a towel !

He plops down on a kitchen chair across from us, opens the towel, grabs my mother's Bic lighter, and proceeds to light one ! With good pressure, the green/blue flame came out about 18 inches - on his second try, however, his 'pressure' petered
out and the flame followed the gas back to the source ! He not only burned a hole in his skivvies, but burned his bung-hole, as well ! While he's d**gging his butt across the living-room rug like a dog on the
lawn, my mom and I were laughing hysterically until our faces were wet with tears of laughter and we were hard-pressed to catch our breath between laughing fits ! Likely one
of the funniest stupid stunts either
of us had ever seen !

Hey Big-A,wheres your sense of adventure

Sorry ! There's a world of difference between being a 'devil-may-care' kind of daredevil who takes chances, and an i***t who bucks the odds ! I prefer the odds in my favor - doesn't mean some of the stunts I've pulled (and gotten away with) weren't risky in
their own right !

Some of those stunts I was lucky
to survive without serious injury;
like Ron White says - ''You can't fix stupid !" Although you CAN'T fix it,
if you're very good or very lucky (or both), you just might survive it !

Some of you may recall the worries our parents had and some may recall the situation.

How do you feel it compares to today?

Since I was only 13 at that time
and still in grade school (8th grade),
I don't remember much about it
other than the tension at home
from the nightly news and the
air raid drills - our school was less than 100 yards from the firehouse
that blew the siren, so it was pretty loud (and attention-getting) !

Even at that age, we knew that
hiding under our desks was no protection, and that if anything actually did happen we'd just be putting our heads between our
legs to kiss our butts goodbye !

Back then, the Manchester/Boston Regional Airport was still a military base (Grenier Field) for the Air Force,
so living less than 10 miles/minutes from a potential military target didn't help much, either !

Right Big A that is what you were referring to

Nope ! And not saying I would be
the one to do so, but some other, senior vet out there who's better armed (and with more/better
financial resources) might get
as fed up as I am and take it upon themselves to put an end to this
tom-foolery and the i***ts in charge !

As far as them monitoring us, at my age I'm not all that concerned about my mortality - never expected to see 35, and here I am at 73 (like 38 bonus years) ! Was looking on a site called 'Been Verified' for info on a former friend to try and re-connect -
on a lark, I decided to do a search
on myself and found out I'm already on somebody's watch list, so if
they're monitoring this and can
read my posts, I can tell them to
'GET BENT' ! 😝

(And THAT is as polite as I can
state it for this Forum !)

I can't speak for others' intentions,
but if there are other, older vets
like myself (with similar attitudes)
out there who are literally physically
ill to their stomachs from seeing our
beautiful country so badly abused
by this administration, his time may
be much shorter than he thinks (and that goes for his cohorts, as well) !

Well our dear Mr. Trump had 4 years to make it all better. He and all the presidents' fascination with the Exective Order. Believe me my friend, if "they" wanted your guns, they would already have them. I'm well of aware of "they're" answer to your "over my dead body" response to that.

"OK"

While it's true that Trump was hardly
the best example of what our president should be like (as with
most of them since the Reagan era), he's was a vast improvement over
the current 'dodo in charge' ! At
least, Trump tried to do good for
our country while in office - the
current 'meat-whistle' cares about
no one/nothing but his wallet (at
OUR expense) !

I've never wondered/worried as
much about this country's fate/
future as I have over the past
couple of years, and I have very
little respect for anyone (or any
party) who has to resort to sub-terfuge (or sneak thieving) to
'win' an e******n in this country !
