warning this post was started in the attic and may be controversial but real problems often require controversial answers and discussion.

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness three of the inalienable rights on which our nation was founded, yet today across our great nation we see Death, Bondage, and the Pursuit of Destruction. There is no inalienable right to death, bondage and destruction even if that is arguably the natural state of the human race. Our inalienable right is to overcome our natural state and embrace and live out our inalienable rights offered to us by our creator of Life, Liberty, and pursuit of Happiness. How is it that in these days legally, politically and social acceptance has embraced, emboldened, enabled behavior that leads to the opposite of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness? How can our nation survive if we rot from within? How is life promoted when we allow people to k**l themselves with drugs? How is it Liberty promoted when we allow people to be in bondage of drugs, human trafficking, and untreated mental illnesses? How is the pursuit of Happiness promoted when we allow our people to be victimized by crime and allow people to live in squalor on the streets? Yes there are great dangers ahead for our Republic abroad but greater are the threats from the societal rot within. So once again I ask what can be done to once again make this a nation where we embrace, protect and promote the inalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and stand up against the culture of Death, bondage and destruction?
For me it is a spiritual battle with spiritual solutions. I know a couple individuals who were drug addicts living on the streets of Seattle who through the ministry of the rescue mission and the grace of God found victory through Jesus and their lives were completely turned around and are now productive members of society enjoying a new life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. But I know I can not force anyone to come to Jesus, nor would I want to, that is a decision they have to make themselves, so what can we as a society do? It is obvious that what we are doing now is not working the cities are only getting worse not better

Well, DC; we can pray... Pray for the ability to clearly and plainly recognize the "Will of our Creator"; as it involves our own individual choices, that we no longer BE a part of the problem, but, rather; that we, each one of us individually; become part of the solution.
The Governor of Ohio, has recently "signed into law"; a "Constitutional concealed carry" 'provision'; which "does away with" the formerly required "schooling and background check", allowing just damn near ANYBODY to walk around armed with a "concealed weapon" ... As long as it's allowed under Federal Law (still no fully automatic weapons allowed!).
While I have always thought that this is good and right, and "the way it ought to be"; there have been "studies released"; which say that "we" (Buckeyes) can expect an increase in violence, following "the enactment of" this new "provision"... I reckon we'll see.

We,as a society cannot force our beliefs on anyone. All we can do is set an example for others. No matter what we do,everyone has to decide for themselves to become better. The druggies and r****rs and criminals in all walks of life have to decide within to become better people. No matter what we do or say, there are people out there that just plain don’t want any help. Set an example and pray

You are absolutely correct DC. We are all entitled to our own opinions. We are not entitled to our own t***hs. And that is a huge problem in this country of ours.

you are once again correct. we use to value t***h, we may have disagreed but at least there was an effort to find what the t***h was. as seen in the value that was placed on the scientfic meathod. how can we get back to that? it seems like the t***h doesnt matter only our opinion

I remember an article I read during high school that most great civilizations in the past started into serious decline and eventual collapse after about 200 years !
Makes one wonder🙄😬

Giving you the right to carry just gives us the ability to even the odds against the i***ts out there that think that it’s okay to shoot and terrorize anyone they feel like. The law enforcement isn’t able to keep up with all the schitt that’s going on. We need some kind of self defense. I hope to never have to depend on it. But it’s there and I can depend on it if necessary…🐟on

I hadn't ever been OVERLY concerned about the UNCONSTITUTIONAL requirements of... well; MANY "Jurisdictions"... I've always been a "big believer" in the premise, that "It is better to be judged by 12, than carried by 6!"

Our nation was founded on Christian belief but it seems as if we have gotten away from this. It started when we allowed praying out of our schools.

Got to disagree with you Frank. A lot of the founding fathers were not Christian in their actual beliefs. They were men of faith, "deists", but not Christian per se. You can look it up. And you can read it for yourself. Which part of our Constitution is based on Christian beliefs or principles? Which part of the Declaration? Those are a couple of major documents upon which this nation was founded. Can you name one that would be more important? That is based on Christian beliefs?

The first amendment to the constitution guarantees the American right to freedom of religion and to other rights. It prevents the government from making laws which regulate an establishment of religion, or that would prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. The founders probably thought it was pretty damn important since they made it first. Now if you go trying to make my kid pray in one of our public schools, and teach your Christian Bible, is that not pretty much the "establishment of a religion"? As I read our Constitution, that is some pretty anti-American thinking there. You think the constitution should be amended? How about the second amendment? Should that one be amended? My opinion, for what it's worth? The Constitution has served us well, almost as originally written, for almost 250 years. Let's leave it the hell alone, what do you say?
