Ohhh! I can't stand them nasty varmints!! They have messed with me on more than one occasion. I would like to have been able to throw a little hillbilly fishing stick out there with them, if you know what I mean. Of course, that's against the law and I'm not much of a law breaker these days. But that IS what I would LIKE to do. Just sayin.
I have to say that I should hope that is not the picture you were hoping to see. I, personally have caught a couple of Pike in Alaska, that probably could've eaten the one pictured. The size pictured here, is average up there in Alaska. Just my 2 cents.
Dave, regardless of that guys lack of gratitude, I appreciate you sharing your valuable knowledge of Merwin and Hawkins. Kokanee are my number 1 fish for eating. (Besides sturgeon. But that's too much of a hassle anymore.) Thanks again. I hope to learn more about Kokanee fishing from you and others on this forum. Fish on! Tight lines!
Almost time for those dollies too. Can't wait. I do well on the White Chuck and Suiattle same situation.
That is exactly where I'm from. My son and grandsons were born in Arlington and have never lived anywhere except Darrington. I live in Everett for work. Can't wait to be able to move back home. That's cool that you know my neck of the woods.
I like the way you think, sir. More power to ya. You could give them your favorite dishing spots while you're at it. Good days to you!
Sorry to have to say it, but Mt. View, California is not the Pacific Northwest. Thank God
I really do think that is a Murder Hornet. We have them here in Washington state. Yo need to call and let someone know what you've got there. No messing around. Bad news for all of us. Glad you killed it though.
I just say, "I'm going fishing tomorrow after work", or "looks like a good day to go fishing,I'll be back around dark". No arguing. She knows better than to argue with me cuz it won't change a thing and if she does I might just o to the tavern to boot.😁
Nice pictures. Thanks. And that's awesome taking time fishing with your grandson. I have 2, but still a little young at 4 months and the other is almost 3(already likes trout fishing at the kids pond with dad). I cant wait until they're about the age of your grandson. Also, I was wondering if you could tell me more about fried fish eggs and bagel? Tight lines!!
Try half a nightcrawler and a small white marshmallow. Oldie but goodie.
I hate to tell you, but she is absolutely right. Sometimes it's just better to not look at what you're eating.😉
Sounds like fun. And that etouffee sounds like a real treat. I do love crawdads. I'm going to try a pond that me and my best friend(RIP Gary) used to go to when we were in our early 20s. Everytime we went there, which was only 4x, we went home with a 5 gallon bucketful. Hopefully, I'll strike it rich again. Maybe my buddy can pull a few strings up there where he's at. He'll be watching, that's for sure. Happy fishing everybody.
I believe you are absolutely correct. They would only live until there was 1 left and he wouldnt last much longer.
Crawdad traps. About $15 apiece. Different people use different bait. Some use canned cat food, some use dry dog food, or raw chicken or fish scraps from filleting. We have Signal crawdads that are native to this area, but also some from down south that are considered an invasive species. I built an escape hatch in case I lose the trap.(required by the fish and game dept.)
