thats a good idea about the lazy ike lure, got some of them laying around somewhere, was wondering if a wide wobbling spoon would work also ?????

myself buddy I use a clinch knot on braid but I run the line thru the bait hook or lure twice, then tie it, if still worried use a drop of gorilla glue on your knot bingo your good to go

yes when you have to fish a lot of slop/veg, a topwater frog in spring or early in the day shines also on calm dark days you just can't beat a frog or toad

looks like you might have spooled the line on wrong way or you got way to much curly, tie your line to a fence post-rock whatever, walk all that line off or 75 % of it off of your spool, cut off where you have it tied to fence rock or post, crank all your line bac onto your spinning reel slowly to unravel the twist on your line .ps in the future on windy days you never , never cast a spinning reel with light lures into the wind always downwind hope this helps you also keeping closing your bail manually every time you cast will keep your line from twisting as well.it's a good habit to get into when fishing spinning reels, believe me, it will save you a lot of line twist headaches.

generally, I use 12# fluoro on just about all my baitcasters for general multi-species of fish freshwater if fishing topwater baits go with typical mono because of the fact mono floats

know what you mean buddy I have gone fishing in 3 different places this year skunked all three times .dodon't get too discouraged it's early in the year. wait for more stable weather, waters are still very cold, fish are just not active & feeding. wait for 3 good sunny days of warmer stable weather then try again they just haven't come up yet

lived in the Detroit area for 26 yrs. use to night in fish Detroit river, belle isle as well, we would pick an inlet or wash out from a channel of the river fish where there's little current or flats where it gets shallow they come in to feed at night into shallow waters. Hope this kinda helps you & good luck

yes, spinning outfits are just fine, knew a guy that fished local bass tournaments have fisher numerous bass tournaments with him, he only used spinning rigs he's got a whole bedroom full of trophies where he has won countless bass tournaments with only spinnerbaits rod & reels whatever floats your boat, in super clear water its the only way to go. only cons about spinning reels 0n super windy days casting lighter lures
