I only use spinning gear, am I doing it wrong?
Out of all the setups I use regularly, only one is a casting rod. The rest are all spinning rods. All the pros and most of the people I see online have the exact opposite arsenal. I like spinning reels because they don't backlash, I can lend them to people who don't have baitcaster experience, I can throw lighter weights easier, and I can get a good spinning reel for less than what I pay for an equally good baitcaster. (With that said I have a Daiwa Fuego CT on a 13 Fate Black rod and I love using it as much as my spinning setups, I just don't have an entire lineup to match)
I don't struggle to catch fish (at least not that I know of) or have fun fishing using spinning gear, but I can't help feel like I'm doing it wrong. Is only using spinning gear wrong? Do baitcasters make that big of a difference?

You aren't doing anything wrong. Spinning gear is perfectly fine. I typically don't see many people using baitcasters when I'm out fishing, most people are using spinning reels. On the internet, my observations are the opposite. Use what works best for you. As long as you know which baits to use and when to use them, the reel you prefer shouldn't matter. It's the Indian, not the arrow.

There is nothing wrong with that. I know plenty of people who prefer spinning for the same reasons and I used to as well. I even have a friend who is very good and has caught many fish on his zebco 33s. It is all in what you want and feel comfortable with. It wasn’t until recent years that I switched to mainly baitcasters and I honestly don’t know if it is worth it for everyone, I just value the feel and control enough to make it worth it.

There is nothing wrong with what you are doing at all. I almost exclusively use baitcasters, and my girlfriend who fishes almost as much as I do only uses spinning gear. I’m in central Canada and people look at me like something is wrong with me when I use my casting gear, because almost everyone around here only uses spinning rods and reels. It’s all about what you are comfortable with and what works for you.

Ain't doin nothing wrong, specially if you're catchin fish. That is the whole point and reason we fish isn't it?
I have one good quality casting outfit. I use it when I know I'm going to be in snag territory or heavy grass. Other than that I use spinning gear. The fish don't care and most folks I know use spinning reels. I think you got it right.
We have some members who get into big, heavy fish. For that I would use the casting outfits, or maybe a winch. (not wench
I only use spinning reels for my bass I use two bait casters for back trolling for salmon

Take the wench along though. For when you're not catching big heavy fish.

To loosen your nuts?
only thing that bus me is to see someone using a spinning outfit and the reel is on "top" of the rod while being used, which means to have to reel backwards as its upside down//////arrrgh!
Hey, Hoss: I've learned not to laugh or crack jokes until you see whether they are catching fish.
For example. One time it was noon and I had nothing to do as I was in Roma TX, on the Border, so I drove out to Falcon Lake dam. I saw some young Mexican boys down on the rocks on the lake side and they had salvaged some broken lines that had lures attached. They were using a beer can as a spinning reel and slinging the lure out and catching bass.
I thought I'd go down and show these lads how real equipment worked and how to really catch those bass. Well, I do go down, but quickly learned I could not cast, catch, and retrieve a bass as fast as they could. Now I can cast further, can fight a fish more efficiently, but in that instance they were doing a much better job. We had a lot of laughs and I gave them all my fish for teaching me a good lesson in humility! just Sayin...RJS

Heavy sigh. Some people just won't take no polish.
