Had three days off and took advantage of the time. Met up with family and friends at the ranch to can some albacore caught a few days earlier by my son. We had about 200 or so pounds of loins. Started at 8am with a few Bloody Mary’s/screw drivers and off to cutting, packing and cooking. Used 2 large canners and one medium for 4 rounds that left us 300 finished jars around 6pm. Everyone has their albacore til next year. Well unless my kid goes again and we end up with a few hundred pounds.

Wow nice! How much a case? Lol

Inquiring about any information of lake San Antonio. This lake used to have unbelievable striper fishing with boils that would cover a hundred yards in diameter. Then it all went dry. Curious to know if anybody has recently caught any stripers since the water has gone back up at lake San Antonio Monterey county California.

Not sure how up to date? Welcome!

Would love to hear about shore fishing options in Guerneville

Never fished it but hear there are some largemouth and smallies that can be found. Guerneville stays pretty busy on the beaches during the summer, maybe hard to find a spot….found this report:

I've gotten tired of sending these out a few at a time so I've consolidated all my spots into one list.

My apologies for resorting to GPS coordinates -- I originally had pin drops from Google Maps, but discovered that I can no longer post them here. You'll have to copy and paste the coordinates into your favorite mapping app.

Feel free to add yours.

Unless otherwise noted, all of the locations are tailgate spots.

Now GO OUT AND GET SOME!!!

Well guys, Ben and I and Rich and George went to the Pet today.
Ben and I in Ben's boat and Rich and George in Rich's boat.
We got on the water bout 0630 and Ben and I started trollin right away. Rich and George start out castin.
I'll let Rich post about their day so this is just for me and Ben.
We started catchin fish right away, but they were short.
We continued to put fish in the boat but none were keeper size.
We had 19 fish by 0945 and we were averaging 6 fish an hour. That's 1 every 10 min. Then the bite just kinda quit. We kept fishin till 1230 but never caught another fish. Had a few bites but no fish after 0945.
Rich and George were doin about the same as us BUT, they caught 5 keepers out of 18 fish I believe they said.
The fish quit bitin for them about the same time as well.
IDK what it is but when they quit bitin they QUIT.
Might as well just call it a day and get off the water then. No sense in wastin time and gas.
ANYWAY, we don't have any pics of our catches but Rich and George took a couple of pics of theirs. They were all C&R today.
I was goin to take fish out to Old Jim and Barbara but we didn't catch any keepers. AGAIN, I was a little too over confident about us catchin keeper fish and didn't tell R&G to keep any. SO, NOBODY kept any fish today, so sorry Jim, maybe next time.
Had a great day on the water with Ben and we did catch quite a few fish just nothing we could keep. Thanks buddy.
By the way, I managed to fish all morning without hitin Ben in the head today.

Hi ya
I'd like to find out how the fishing is off of the Oceanside Municipal Pier in Oceanside California

Welcome to The Stage Mark! I hear they’re about to spend 5 mil rebuilding the pier, not sure when? Found this posted online: Drop by the Oceanside Pier Bait Shop at mid-pier to pick up rods, tackle, and bait (beware of the marauding seagulls), then find your spot. At the end of the pier, you're most likely to hook bonito and mackeral; at mid-pier, stingrays and halibut; and closer to shore, it's croakers and guitarfish.

26" its meat is blue too until you cook it, then it turns white. How do you think this Lingcod gets its beautiful blue color? Anyone?

Fished Aug 13 to 17 in a pontoon boat, 7am to 7pm each day. I have no idea how many fish we caught almost all on flylined nightcrawlers. 15 tigers from 3 to 6 lbs. Lots and lots of 2 lbs rainbows and cuts. Rained a bit each day, but it absolutely turned the bite on each time. I am trying to send pics. This site won't let me.

Beautiful fish, great trip! Love them tigers! Thx for sharing Drcat

I just wanted to post a couple of pictures from my grandson(Anthony) of his great fishing adventure this past summer. The first picture is of him holding a large barracuda! He caught it in the Azores while visiting his other grandpa. The other picture he is holding a lightning trout (22" )caught that one in a kayak! His dad was at his side to assist him. This is his first year of kayak fishing. He is 10 yrs old

How cool are those! I’ve never caught a lightning trout either

I am fishing lake McSwain CA, primary focus is trolling for trout. Plan on using what has typically worked for us in the past but was wondering if anyone can share any tips, or where I can find a detailed map of the lake. Am going to drive up to the park entrance to look for info.

Thanks and catch all of the big ones unless your right next to me!
