I always put mine in gear because I have seen many dry spinning. The water pump impellor is on the prop shaft that is spinning dry. An old mechanic told me to do so many moons ago.

When I was younger, quoting some commercial work for a local contractor to repair or replace park benches here in Mobile. What he said still sticks.....Son if you're in doubt, go the whole route. Then your #$$ is covered for sure.

Glad all are ok. We had one a number 3 tornado 2 blocks from our house a few years ago on Christmas day. It sounded like a 747 landing in my yard. We were outside, before we could get in it was over. Destroyed a school and alot of homes.

We just sold our house and land in East Point La Hache. Will miss the fishing, but can go back if I want. Only 3-4 hours from Mobile.

I would suggest the Park Pier or under the bridge at Orange Beach Pass. Bottom fish with live or dead shrimp. May catch a red, or speck. See what the other folks are doing. Not sure what's biting over there in this cold.

Wow! They didn't get to be studs by being stupid. Last year I got to see a typical bugs bunny scene on the Spanish Fort causeway. The NO HUNTING sign next to the road and thousands of gadwall, teal, redhead and other ducks ganged up around it on opening day.

I have always found it best to keep the water drained if possible on all fish and game. In some cases you can't drain the fish, depending on the situation. Both fish and game will lose the natural colors and some flavor. Fish will also get cloudy eyes. Leaving the water on or off, you can still eat them.

TSA will confiscate anything that you try to carry on that will cut, poke, or stick you. They may arrest you for lures that could be fasioned into a leathal weapon. I would put them in my checked bag. Don't be surprized when to get to your destination that your bag has a TSA inspection tag inside of it. Passed experiance.
