Good evening, merciejo, and welcome to the Forum. I don't know what it is, but I don't think it's a silver (sand) trout. I can't see the rear dorsal fin either. It could be, the head/mouth/teeth are different too. Sand trout have spots, I don't see them either.

The mouth is wrong for a silver trout. Trout has a down pointed nose.
It looks like a Blue. If you pull the pectoral fin down and it has a black arch, it’s definitely a Blur.

That's a spotted Sea trout very tasty.
2,3or5 per person limit depending on where you are fishing 15" minimum length maximum length of 19".
It's a cousin of the weakfish.

Scrap that I was commenting on nj21 photos.
And yes nj21 if came from NJ it's a weakfish.
Merciejo if it jumped like a tarpon and shit All over the place when you landed it, it's a lady fish. Fun to catch you'll clean your boat every 3rd fish from the poop but there great for chunk bait.
I don't know anyone that eats them.

My family fished Fernandina all my life growing up i. FL. That's a nice whiting, a good eating preferred fish.

I'll let everyone decide for themselves but I'm sticking with lady fish.
Here are some pictures of both from the FWC Web site.
The whiting's mouth is in the wrong place.

Look like a cross between a yellow mouth trout and a whitting. Good eating. I live here in jacksonville.

Thanks for all the responses!
Retired FWC officer said it’s a Whiting….very common for these waters and good eating.
