Hey Fly Please consider leaving the milkweed alone and even creating a patch just for Monarchs. Monarchs were just put on the Endandered Species Red List. Would we all be sad if Monarch Butterflies went extinct.
As a small landowner who struggles with Goldenrod, Buuckthorn and Reed Canary Grass I get the need to kill invasive things but Monarch Butterflies aren't one of them. I've created a quarter acre of short grass praire just for butterflies/pollinators!
Please create a butterfly/pollinator garden, and oh yeah the deer bed down in it, so . . . Venison!

This past week officials with Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources caught a record size lake sturgeon on the Wolf River near Shawano. The fish was 87.5 inches long and weighed more than 240 pounds. It is believed to be the largest lake sturgeon ever caught in the U.S. The fish was estimated to be 125 years old
You are also 1 1/2 hrs from the famous Eagle River area check out - https://eagleriver.org/
On a sight seeing note in the Fall they run chair lifts up Rib Mountain to see the colors.
Check in at Curt's Island Sport Shop https://www.kurtsislandsports.com/ They have a weekly fishing report. Considering the dozens of lakes within spittin' distance you might consider a less popular/busy lake to try. Also check Dewey Catchem and How https://deweycatchemandhow.com/ They also have fishing reports and a guide service, which might be well worth the money if you really want to catch game fish. Good Luck!
RJ, I prefer your personal experiences and insights but I like to read them all. No one here will be forced to read anything they don't want to, so keep doing it, pleeze! Reading and writing, especially grammatically, seem to be getting lost. IMHO LOL BRB ROTFLMFAO!
Depends a lot on what kind of fish. Here blue gills, crappies, bass, and walleye are pretty mild flavored. Too much seasoning and ya can't taste the fish. A little lemon pepper and garlic butter, lightly grilled with some smoking chips or broiled is pretty darn good. Good Luck!
Keep em in their original bags but you don't need to keep 5 bags of Senkos with one or two in each. You can combine brands. Senkos with Senkos. Powerbait with Powerbait, Gulp with Gulp etc. Good Luck
Hooky works a different way and with hooks/flies down to size 18.

Oh yeah Bass Pro sells a two pack of line threaders for $6.50
Go to the WI DNR site FIND A LAKE ap, there is a contour map. Call the Lodge you're staying at and have a chat with them. Some of the resorts/lodges I've been to have their own lake maps with features marked. Good Luck!

OH and you'll be near Clam Lake that has WIs largest Elk Herd. Ya might spot some.
Go to the FIND A LAKE ap on the WI DNR site there is a contour map of the lake. A road and hiking trails go along the North side of the lake. The dam is at the south end and if there's access is probly a good bet. It's an extremely popular park, so expect it to be busy. Stop at the park office and talk to the DNR folks. They will help. The South side of the lake may not have access or require bushwacking Google map it. Hip boots or water shoes would let you walk shoreline. Oh and 100% of the fish are caught right where they are. Good Luck!

I agree with Spirit, the St. Croix Mojo Bass is a great choice in that range and in spinning reels the Shimano Sedona is a nice match. Good Luck!
Be sure to ask the nice folks at the "guide place" you'll be staying at.
Hey Tutorlynn,
Wisconsin has 15,074 lakes which does not include rivers and trout streams. Help us out. Where's "here", what species, boat or bank, rich or poor, beer or scotch?????
