Hey, friends. I have a small tackle storage bag for soft bait, ziplock bags included and they look to be heavy duty. The bags aren’t quite big enough to hold the original packaging but I’m not sure if I want to remove the bait and put it directly in the ziplocks. I’ve read conflicting opinions and as I’m writing this, I guess I’m asking for more. 🤣 Is it okay to remove them from the original packaging? Is it better to leave them in there? Right now, they’re all in one compartment of my tackle backpack and they’re easy enough to get to. Just thinking there might be another, better way. I’m sorry if this has been discussed already - if so, I missed it. 🙂 Thank you for your help and advice, folks.

I think we might have the same type softbait storage. Mine is a zippered folder with heavy duty ziplocs attached to the inside. I leave my baits in their original packages and put the whole thing in the folder. There are different odors that you might not want to mix as when you run out of one and replace it with another in the same folder. Also don't mix brands in the same folder you will have a mess on your hands when the melt and attach to each other. Hope this helps ya. Tight lines.

I usually put the plastic bags that they come in my tackle bag . I don't unpack them. I have some bang with Ansi oil I spray on them when I use them.

Betts I have used zip locks but it pays to not mix n match. Colors will bleed n some will melt together. Good luck 👍 🎣 I have on occasion mixed white with darker colors just to see what I get

I always let them in the original packs Betts. Like others have said, some will interact with others and you don’t want to mix the different “flavors”

That does sound like the same thing, Bobber. Mine is a smaller size so the original bags won’t fit in the ziplocks. Good to know about not mixing the scents. Thank you!

Same here, in the tackle bag in their own compartment. Easy enough, but I have to dig through them all to find what I want…thank you, Seegundo. 👍

Thanks, Grizz! I didn’t know the colors could bleed. Did your mixing come up with anything good? 😁😁

Thanks, Slim. I’m hesitant to take them out of the original bags but I was hoping to be able to use the binder thingy. Guess I could just buck up and buy a bigger one…

Actually some strange colors. Nothing I could duplicate 🥴. Always something to learn in fishing. Save your toren senkos. You can Ned rig one half. I tore one while fishing wacky rig. Nose hooked the remaining pc skipped it next to n old tire n landed a 12" bass 😂 you never know what will work till you try it 👍👍

To save having to buy another folder you could mark each folder zip with an indelible marker. Brand name, style, color etc then you could take them out of the original package and place them in the folder. Just make sure when you run out of something you put the same something in the same folder so the scents don't mix. Making sure of course that the ziplocks are closed properly so they won't lose scent or dry out.

I try to keep them in the original package. There are times I do put them in a zip lock bag. It has not seemed to effect them

Keep em in their original bags but you don't need to keep 5 bags of Senkos with one or two in each. You can combine brands. Senkos with Senkos. Powerbait with Powerbait, Gulp with Gulp etc. Good Luck

Betts, DO NOT, throw away any of your plastic worms, Senkos or whatever they are. As you can
melt them down in a Pyrex measuring cup in the microwave. Watch the mixture as it melts at 350º

You can make your own mold using plaster of paris, copying a plastic that you use most.
