I'm getting a couple of friends together for a little tournament . The rules are simple. 1) go to Wal-Mart and put a $25 small tackle box together. 2) you can use whatever lures you buy and put in the tackle box as long as total is under $25. 3) find area that no-one in the tournament has fished. Ponds , rivers , etc. 4) minimum size and weight limit. ( haven't come up with that part yet. We are still working on that). 5) 5 hour time limit. 6) winner gets all tackle bought for each tournament. If you all have any other suggestions or ideas I would love to hear them. Thanks for your ideas ahead of time.
I bought a runcl grim II at the beginning of the spring and it turned out to be a nice reel. Smooth action with the 10 bearing system. Comes with 2 spools. One metal and one plastic. For the price of 40 dollars I think if was a steal. Ive reeled in everything from pan fish to heavy catfish. Even a large turtle to my surprise. You can find them on there web site or on Amazon . hopefully this helps
Chatterbait with finesse swim tail and 6 inch lizard chartreuse or blue/ black with flame.
Article said lake trout and she threw it back.
Audigger53 what part of baltimore. You in. I'm in middle river and that store doesn't have a quarter of the stuff lol.
Most of the dnr guys around here ive known for years . the bass with snakeheads in there bellies I've seen first hand.
Large mouth bass have had small snakehead in there belly according to dnr in my area. But on the other side of the coin dnr told me that the snake heads have been eating a lot of the frogs in the areas that are prevalent with them.
In middle river md I go to alot of places that have snake heads. About 2 miles from on wilson point we catch them all the time. Use to be a great large mouth bass area but has changes since the fish kill of 2015. I've reeled in a few on ultralight gear with frog lures. Susquehanna River has become another area they are becoming predominate. Good fight and a lot of fun. Still rather fish for large and small mouth though
Its a pumpkin seed. I catch them all the time hear in middle river maryland.
I find when I can't catch anything using rubber worms , I switch to a lizard . if still nothing I jump to my chatter bait with a trailer .
I live in Maryland and around me I've got a lot of choices from ponds to lakes to ocean. I like all fish around to eat . best fish would have to be trout and rock fish
