Watched it...ehhh.. some tips, sorta good (like the needle nose pliers savings...if you like tools that will be rusty within 24hrs of using... save up for GOOD pliers w/a leash.. worth it) some, not so much. He says not to buy snap swivels because big (?) fish will straighten them. Not if you buy QUALITY ones and use the correct size. He says " never buy pre-tied rigs, buy the components and make your own". Maybe,... if you know the rig set up, have need of multiples, and the desire to do so. If you just want to "give that a try", probably not your best bet, money-wise or time-wise. He's probably not familiar with that drop-shot rig he held up, then put on the floor so we could see clearly (his best move on the video) or he wouldn't have dissed it. Yeah, dude, you DO need "all that hardware", sorry. The funniest part was where he dissed the pre-packaged herring (?) bait, overpriced ?, yeah, probably, but waaay more convenient ....his concern ?..."that must just stink !" Well...DUHHH. lol ! Far as I know, fish pretty much LOVE that stink. Otherwise, my collection of oils, sprays, dips, scents, baitwax etc. would be for naught.... they're not...they increase my catch rate. As with the majority of YouTube videos, about 1 1/2 stars out of five. Funny how often that ratio correlates to minutes. Five minute video...1 1/2 minutes of REALLY GOOD advice,....such is life.

Actually Severn, 5 miles south of BWI. I think maybe he was in Florida. Those were some nice rigs that he showed, to never buy. As long as they are rated as high or higher than your max drag, they are NOT going to straighten out. I think his Dad used some of the small light weight swivel snaps for attaching his lure that straightened out. Now the Popping corks that he didn't like are great for using live bait (fish) with. You have the weight of the fish and the cork is almost nothing for weight, with a 1 OZ sinker max. Not talking minnows for bait, but small Spot up to 5 inches as whole live bait.
I was taught Big bait, Big hook, ='s Big Fish. I use 3/0 or 5/0 circle hooks for Rock Fish here.

For saltwater I tend to agree with a lot of wat he says. Many of those items are for catfishing.

I agree with you 100%. Intuition made me think the more "junk" you have in your lure the greater chance to scare a fish. The less and more natural looking and subtle your bait is, the better chances for you to get the prize. Thanks for re-sure my feeling.
