Actually works the other way round on the east coast. When the wind blows west it flattens out the wave action and lowers the tide level. East it pushes the wave action up.
I lived in Delaware for 17 years but didn't get to fish that much.
Hit the beach this morning on the north end of Harvey Cedars this morning. Got a little bit later start than I wanted due to road construction. The NE wind was blowing pretty good, so there was a lot of current. Fished fir a while but no action.
Broke off fir lunch at the fishing club, then back out to the beach. The tide had turned and coming in. Rugged a bunker chunk and put it out. Couple minutes later the rod went off. I could tell it was a blue, a bug one. Long story short, 35 to 40 inches and about 8 pounds. Sorry, no pictures. Left my phone in the clubhouse at lunch

They say west-wind fish bite best, and east-wind fish bite least. All you needed was the tide change nice catch.
2 hrs. On the South Branch of the Raritan today. 18 fish in the net, 3 browns & 15 rainbow, plus another 6 or so that got themselves off. Too many pics to post but here are a few:
Sounds like a great day. I didn't know New Jersey had trout. I used to work all over the state but never thought of fishing there.
The one I wanted got away when I was young. And since have struck out twice. I am very unlucky. Have been single since about 1997. Now I am just too old to care and I am too afraid of another bad relationship.
Went out for maybe 90 minutes, would have stayed longer but was not dressed for rain and wind. Caught 4 bass, the guy next to me must have caught at least 8, 2 keeper. Was out on providence/ seekonk river using sandeels
today will be bottom fishing outside the rogue river, black cod, Ling cod, and dungeness crab one of the few days when we can get out into the ocean. only one 26 pound hatchery chinook put in the boat yesterday.
