Okay. So you are 2 years younger than my son. Thanks for the instruction. Newbies make mistakes. Even us non-tech old guys. Your birthday is around mine of September 15. Just got back from the gym. Rest time.

I'm sure glad for you and your family, that you are still GOING to a gym!!!

Yeah, but, I've got a brother a year and almost 5× months older than me... It's been very nearly 20× years, since both of my parents "went on to their rewards" (roughly a year apart)... My father had been born in 1928 y Ma had been born in 1930.

Damn! You gotta be close to my age. So much life back there. I figure I'm in my fifth life. Each segment around 20 years. It's great! Not ready to check out yet. Dad was 96 and Mom almost reached 100. I'm working on it.
Lol

If'n when you "follow up" on someone's (or, your own) comment, it's a good idea to "hit" the "Quote Reply" so as to avoid confusion... I'm GUESSING that you had "said" that, to me... I'm thinking that I'm actually a good bit younger than you (not CERTAIN)... I'll be 64 years old, if I keep breathing Earth-Air for a month and a half...
My 2nd job, after graduating from highschool, was on the back deck of a workboat. (A wee push boat, in the Morgan City Oil Patch). One thing led to another and within 4× years, I was engaged in commercial fishing.
The number of boats I've lived and worked on, far exceeds the number of Captains/ Boat Owners/ Vessel Management Companies I've worked with. I've worked with the same whole crews, on a couple of different boats, for example.

yes the earth has been on a warming trend since the little ice age and mist likely will cycle back to a cooling trend. of course weather and climate are two different things. I would like to know what the shifting of the poles has to do with either. I know the north pole has moved more than normal the last 10 years and I would think that change our weather in some way

You've "brought to mind" something I seem to remember having read, in the National Geographic, I think it was... Maybe 30(+/-) years ago? ...
It was reported that certain people had been doing some "scientific, exploratory excavating" of sorts... They had discovered that there were layers of ¿magnetite? (Maybe) that were "laid down" at different depths, from the surface of Earth; who's "north and south poles" had actually "flipped" 180(ish)°... And THAT; more than once.
I'm going to run a "search" on this topic and will post links or directions on how to find information about what this might all mean, to us; we, who are currently breathing Earth-Air.

Thanks Able Man. So you were a commercial trawler? At sea in all weather. Not my cup of tea but kudos to you.

Well, thank you, 8#... Yeah, I have engaged in the commercial harvest of Crawfish, in Louisiana (using Homemade "Chicken Wire" traps); trawling for Scallops in the Atlantic & trawling for shrimp in the Atlantic & the Gulf of Mexico; gill netting in the Atlantic & the Gulf; purse seining in the Atlantic & the Gulf AND right IN Tampa Bay... Longlining for Tuna & Swordfish (and several other species) in the Gulf Stream, between Miami Beach and Jacksonville; also fished a few "Drift Nets" (¡Oh, what Blasphemy!) in the Atlantic... Encirclement gill netting for Spanish Mackerel in the Atlantic & in the Gulf... I've not been "Fit For Duty" for nearly 30 years, now... It's a long story. Yeah, I've worked back decks in "blistering heat" and "white-out blizzards" & everything in between. I miss it, sorely.

I can't respond to my on post. Because I was rude. But what I don't understand is why me. The man that provoked me should be banned. I am not the only one he has tried to start something with. I was in the wrong I do admit that. But people like that should not be able to be on something that makes everyone else happy.

I don't know if you are aware that you can "click on" anyone's "User Name" (right in any post) and be taken to their "Profile"... THERE, you can choose to "Ignore" them; and, I have done that with a few people, for a few days; to AVOID my OWN potentially "highly inappropriate response" to some crap, some of these i***ts, sometimes have to say... Then, once I'M COOLED DOWN; I "Unblock" the "User" in question.
Best of luck with it all; and again, Welcome to the Fishing Stage!

¡Welcome to the Fishing Stage, 8#! I've got no experience with catching Flounder with hooks... Dragged up many in scallop dredges, years ago; I've also eaten quite a few we dragged up in shrimp trawls, around Cape Canaveral, back in the early 1980's. They are certainly one of my favorite fish to eat!

¡Welcome to the Fishing Stage, ABfishin2! Yeah, what flyguy said: "We" gotta know "what's on the menu"... You MIGHT wanna use something as simple as a worm on a hook, with or without a bobber. (Good morning, flyguy!)

Gotter done a week ago. Much pain. Much pain. Thanks for all your comments-- except for the piece of cake guy.

Well, I'm glad to hear that you "gotter done"... Yes, I experienced one powerful amount of pain, after my surgery, back in the late '90's... One thing to be mindful of = try not to "develope an addiction" to the pain meds... If the doctor is "a mature individual"; they will probably get you to "taper off" from the pain killers, and THAT, in and of itself; was a bit distressing to me, at the time. Be mindful of performing any "Therapy Exercises" the Physical Therapist instructs you to do; especially those "related to maintaining a good balance". Also those exercises designed to improve leg strength.
I STILL use a cane or walking stick; but, I've got "other issues", besides the "Avascular Necrosis" which "brought on" my own personal need, for a hip replacement. Follow "Doctor's orders" and "watch out" for "becoming DEPENDENT upon pain killers"!!!

AM, if I get up that way I certainly will. There’s something about a tree with the exposed roots that enlightens me about their strength, their age, and the adversity they’ve had during their life. Here is a couple of photos I took when we camped at Guadalupe River SP here in Texas. The trees are Cypress.

¿¡Ain't that "somethin'"; how those trees seem to "have sense enough" to grow their roots, back AWAY from the river, to where they might not get washed away, during a flood!?
