Bottom one Agnes Moorehead?
These little round bobbers will work quite well as slip bobbers, too. just put a bobber stop and bead behind the unit and don't allow the bobber to close all the way. Used these for years before the streamlined slip floats became popular.
Thanks to everyone who responded with the info I needed. I got on a site and ordered a Shimano Spirex trigger spin. Thanks again.
Why does no manufacturer make the trigger spin reels? I thought they were really handy, and allowed the bail to be opened with one hand, thereby making it possible to make faster casts? I've completely worn out the (mainly Shimano) reels I had.
I believe the quote about bad fishing is better than a good day's work is from "The Compleat Angler",by Izaak Walton-circa 1653.....cool,huh?
I used one for ice fishing pan fish. Seems like mid 70s. Spooled on 4 lb line. Worked better than any other rig available at the time. The closed construction kept the slush and other frozen crud from the mechanism. I'd use one again if I had one.
For my money, white bass fight as well as any like sized fish. They are built kinda like a crappie on steroids, with a broad tail that gives them plenty of thrust.
It has been my experience that newer Mercs just don't idle down well. Clean and adjust as good as you can,run some Marvel Mystery oil in your gas,and it might help some. Just seems to be the nature of the beast!
Bluegill are definitely sport fish in Wisconsin! They wouldn't have a catch limit otherwise. If you're using them for bait, they have to be caught in the same body of water you are fishing in. Also, they cannot be transported live.
Hi,all! In the old days(30-40-50 years ago),It was a common thing when on the way to Canada to see several boat rigs on the shoulder jacked up with one wheel off. All those old trailers were fitted with 8 in. wheels which spun about twice as fast as the 15 in. wheels today. That equates to a great deal more heat build up and friction,so eventually somethings gotta give. Although I've had no recent problems,I still carry two sizes of bearings, tools and grease to possibly help some other poor stranded soul. Several opportunities have arisen to help my fellow boaters over the years.
Well,there's your problem!
In NW Wisconsin, a speck is a brook trout!
