Need some help diagnosing a small problem with my Mercury 25 hp 4 stroke. Great motor. Really like the displacement. Lately it has been stalling while trolling at idle/slow speed. As many as 7 or 8 times per hour. Frustrating!
Could this be remedied simply by adjusting the idle up a bit? Or ??
Any help would greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you may have a fuel blockage. Partially clogged carb jets. Also, check all your electrical connections. Maybe thereโs one working itโs way loose. Let us know what you find out.

I agree, sounds like a fuel problem. I have no experience with Mercs. With Evinrudes it could also be the fuel pump. I don't know if Merc's have a similiar system or not. Just Sayin...RJS

The fuel filter/filters may need to be replaced. How old is the gasoline and do you use a gas stabilizer or SEA-FOAM, Or use StarTron/starbrite fuel treatment at EVERY fill up.
Make sure the vent on the gas tank was open and then pumped the little bulb on the gas line a few times and cranked it back up. You didn't say how old the motor is but the fuel supply line/bulb pump may need to be replaced.

Fuel filter, have you changed the spark plugs?
