Commander Bell, I have used Bob Schell Charters out of Pastric Marine, which is close to you and recommend him highly.
Anyone got any idea when the best time in March to fish for Musky on this lake
People are driving trucks on the Pete and there was races at the Lure last Saturday Plenty of trucks and trailers on the ice. Also vehicles on the ice by Romano's at the elabow. Many shacks on the ice south of the Lure on the main lake
I went to Minaki for a week last August and fished exclusively for Musky and we did good. I was told the Smallies on the river are big and plentiful. I caught one and it was a big 4 lb. Also heard Dogtooth lake is a good lake for eyes and smallies . We were thinking of going to Minaki this year and maybe go to Dogtooth for a couple days since it is so close to where we are staying. Anyone familiar with these 2 areas. We also did good with the northern on the river in Minaki. I.m more of a bass guy than musky
I am about totally bored and was wondering if anyone knows of any Crappie or Bass being caught at this time of year in Central Illinois. I am looking for open water with a guide. Also, I have a 2017 Yamaha 150 V MAX SHO and I backed into my garage with the motor in the up or travel position and I guess you know the rest. I damaged the cover and would like to find a used replacement because of the cost of a new one. Maybe someone knows a shop that may have fixed one.
Haven't had fruit cake for ages. Always liked it and will eat it again this year if I see it in a store. Potica is a very good coffee cake type food. Many of my neighbors make it and share
If you go to Google and find Fay's Point Marina Calumet Park, Il you will see their docks and a bridge. The ramp is before the bridge. This will give you an idea on the area
The channel is narrow but if it is trolling motor only I think it will be for a short distance like 400 ft. There is a marina closeby and a sailboat there with a 5 ft keel and a 38 ft cruiser also . Google Fay's Point Marina Calumet Park, Il and you will see their docks and the channel and the bridge. The ramp is east of the bridge. I have a feeling the water depth is ok
I spoke to someone about that ramp on 137th and Ashland and was told the water is deep enough if you go east toward the lake from the ramp. The pier is a little high to get in your boat but parking is good and I plan on using it
I'm aware that a camera can feed bad habits but self discipline is important. I have a fishing buddy that spends too much time looking at his Panoptix but have more buddies that use it only to identify after finding the fish and than we try to CATCH !
I am west of Cal Park and that ramp about 45minutes 30 miles
I will use the camera from my boat to see fish in the water. I am a fisherman. I do have current modern electronics that shows fish but I am looking for that little bit xtra.
I guess you know where it is and did you ever launch there. I don't know if this is a private post. I would like to talk on email or the phone. Evidently you live somewhere in the area. Hopefully someone that used it will comment. There are piers close to the ramp and I am going to that area soon to see if I can find someone that keeps a boat on the piers
Has anyone used the newer underwater cameras. I'm looking for some opinions
Has anyone launched at 137th and Ashland in Calumet Park. I did years ago but things can change and I wonder how deep it is. The ramp and facilities are beautiful.
