I have a Aqua-VU Micro Revolution 5.0 pro. Don't get that one. The lithium battery goes dead on the shelf after several days. You have to get on charging it ahead of any use. I called and he said "that's just the nature of the beast". Yeah sure. I have lithium in many other items that stay fully charged for a year +. You can hardly see the screen in full daylight. You have to fully shadow shield it. Previous older Acqua screens could be almost good in sunlight. the battery has 5 hrs of run time if you don't use the light. It can only be charged on 110 ac current. So you can't bring a small (M/C battery) along to jump it. You could use a converter hooked onto the battery over to the camera. Nuff said

Got it. I have a diving mask camera but not the fish camera you're talking about. We have had a few on this site who have posted some pics from there's While fishing on a boat and ice fishing. The seem to have good resolution in clear water.

I've heard good things about the Waterwolf camera but haven't gotten one yet. It doesn't look like it will bluetooth to your phone but you record to it.

It's amazing to see how many fish take a look at your presentation and decide not to take the bait.

I'm thinking about one, one of the guide videos I was watching (Sambo in Berryessa) swears that fish love the thing, he gets more hookups on the line that has the camera than the ones that don't.

I'm thinking after about ten fish look at your lure and give it a pass it's time to change up speed or lure.

I thought about getting an Aqua View for many years, but was concerned that the kids would just stare at it as if it was a video game. However, it would be cool to identify what is down there NOT biting πŸ˜‰
I may need to justify one for the Grandkids to keep them busy during the slow times πŸ˜‚
It would be cool for ice fishing, too!

I don't need to see a pic of fish that DON'T wanna bite. I fish in an area that SHOULD hold fish. If I don't get any bites I just figure there aren't any fish there that wanna bite. So I move till I find fish that WANT to bite. Works for me. I just keep lookin till I find the fish that I can catch. I HUNT FISH.

I'm aware that a camera can feed bad habits but self discipline is important. I have a fishing buddy that spends too much time looking at his Panoptix but have more buddies that use it only to identify after finding the fish and than we try to CATCH !

I suspect my fish finders have been lying to me all these years as I mark thousands of them that don’t like my presentations. πŸ˜‚ I would like one just to identify them and perhaps I may even learn something while entertaining the kids. If I ever upgrade the boat I may spring for the Livescope, etc., but neither is in the budget quite yet πŸ˜‰. I have vowed to myself that I will not spend the day watching the fish β€œTV” and miss out on the scenery!

I presently don't even have an operative FF. Good thing I know both the Napa and Petaluma rivers. I can fish those pretty well without a FF. I know how deep the places are that I fish and know how deep my lures are runnin. I can still manage to usually catch fish even without a FF.

I gotta agree with you Saw. You might think I'm joking but this is going to happen... a lure with a camera, remote control directional propulsion, and GPS. A special fishing line will be the network connection between the lure and the control panel. You can switch between preprogrammed lure presentations or select manual mode for the hard core anglers. A line has to be drawn in the sand somewhere or this will become the norm. Maybe the lack of disgust at using cameras is a sign that we are to late to stop it
.

I do appreciate a depth finder for when I'm trollin, or specially on NEW water. I have NO idea of the bottom contour and how deep it is. But for the water/rivers I usually fish I don't really need one. Thank goodness.

I have used camera for mainly winter fishing whitefish and perch. I believe catch rate improves if watching what fish are doing and how they react. I have older camera but buddy has pocket size that I would purchase if I would have to replace mine. As we say cameras don't lie. You know exactly what you are looking at.
