I’ve walked about 3 miles of beach and jetties today. Pretty much all the same. I’ll keep at it… 👍

All,
I’m still in Biloxi and I’m into an area where the speckled trout (at least the ones I’m catching) are very small juveniles. I started this afternoon with a 5/0 circle hook and could not catch anything. My first thought is the hook is too big. Turns out I’m right because I switch to a 2/0 and I start landing small specks and white trout. However that hook is small enough to fit down the gullet and I inadvertently kill two fish. This is not acceptable to me, so I move to 3/0 and I’m back to landing no fish. I prefer this too killing needlessly because I’m here for fun, not dinner, but boy does it suck!!!!

Anyone know what this is? Caught in Biloxi MS out of what is technically the Mississippi Sound. Thanks in advance for the help.

My guess is a borrowing eel of some sort. I hooked up and it felt like a snag. After a few minutes of being annoyed I figured it was time to break the line. When I started walking backwards, hand wrapped in a towel wrapped in my braid, it let go and I reeled this thing in. Just want to be sure what it was. I’ll admit it had me hopping a bit when it was thrashing. I was able to stop it with gentle pressure, remove the hook and unfortunately an eye and het him back in the water.

Weiss is always muddy. Try some sort of blood bait, chicken liver, etc

Carp rig. Doughball gets formed around that center piece. It’s like a snag rig really.

Get yourself a good lantern or head lamp. My best luck has always been at night for cats.

So I’ll be at a cabin in Ellajay Ga, in a few weeks, the property has waterfront access to a smaller river in the back and it has trout, what kind of baits or lures should I use to fish for these?I fish saltwater in FL so I’m not sure what to grab,I’ll be using spinning reels on my poles.any advice would be greatly appreciated

I have fished that general area a few times. Had good luck with pink and natural colored gulp worms as well as white-pink & chartreuse-orange mouse tails. Red salmon eggs are hit and miss. Gold panther martin or rooster tails with brown and red skirts. Unfortunately, i can’t tell you to match tge hatch as i don’t know which insects are hitting the water this time of year.

Hey all. I'm looking for some real tiny circle hooks suitable for catching tiny fish. My go to hook is usually a size 4 aberdeen, but I've learned of a regulation for the Delaware river that, when fishing with bait, one must use a circle hook. So I'm looking for the absolute smallest circle hooks out there. Any suggestions?

Agree with the Panther Martin’s, great lures. I like Berkley mouse tails and /or gulp worms for stream fishing.
