I will be fishing on the Grand river in Ontario, Canada. The depth where I will be able to fish will vary from 1-2 feet in depth (is that too shallow??) and the bottom is comprised of medium/small sized rocks. My target species are Rainbow trout, Brown trout or smallmouth bass(really anything to be honest). What type of fly would you suggest I try.

Try streamers they imitate small bait fish especially the smallies

I am a new boat owner, and have always fished lakes and streams for years, with my kayak. No experience fishing for bigger fish.

Any advice for fishing the Columbia from a boat?

Keep an eye on current they change how much is released from the dam all the time and be sure to use the buoy system. Current and wind can swamp a boat in a heartbreak

One should be enough, two at most. Your friend needs to catch his own

How the hell do I get it unstuck? I just got a new rod and thanks to covid I couldn't go in store and check to see if it comes apart easy and now I'm stuck with a one piece rod who's eyes aren't even lined up
