My 2 piece rod is stuck together.....
How the hell do I get it unstuck? I just got a new rod and thanks to covid I couldn't go in store and check to see if it comes apart easy and now I'm stuck with a one piece rod who's eyes aren't even lined up

See if you can get some WS40 to get down in there.

Its a long shot but maybe try a hair dryer heat on it. Might just expand the materials to a point that it can be twisted and pulled apart.

Pb blaster worked for me. On a side note, rubbing the ferrel along the side of your nose prior to assembling will keep it from sticking again.
Put the rod behind your knees , grip rod on each side and press your legs against your hands. Probably video of it somewhere. Works great
Get those rubber jar openers and twist like shutupandfish says.
And when you do get it un stuck, please let us know what worked. That way we can help others.
Soaking in warm water for about 2 hours
The automotive brand of products called "Seafoam" makes something called "Deep Creep". I use it to free up broken off rusty bolts in engine blocks, etc. The stuff works miracles in that application...sort of like any penetrating lube would. They say it even creeps "upwards" against gravity, and in my experience...it does! It has saved me some costly major disassemblies to drill out hardware!
Lot's of good suggestions coming at you so I hope one works. Your dilemma would be a bugger for sure!

I'd have to agree with Saw if you can prop it up word straight up and down squirt some WD-40 down the seam and let it soak

Dad would rub the male part of the rod through his hair before putting them together...never got stuck...๐on
Get some penetrating oil - I'm not a fan of WD40. It has its uses, but that's not one of em. Learned that in the Navy. If CWO John Carnell caught you using that chit as oil, he would whack you up side the head. His preference was peppermint oil. And out on the briny, things can get pretty well stuck together, you know?
A number of good suggestions! Penetrating oil, heat, and such. Be sure to let us know what worked for you. Just Sayin...RJS
Seen it on Bill Dance years ago with the method of removing a fishhook stuck in somebody with a doubled fishing line, used it to remove a hook from my 5year olds scalp without a whimper
