I own a 17ft wyatt sled w 90hp jet and 8hp kicker. Also fish w my son on his 20ft Wave Runner. Also fish from shore but arthritis limits mobility. Love fishing in the ocean but limited by seasickness. Love the NW but envy you southerners who fish in tee shirts😎.

I have spent many hours trolling for Muskie in lakes north of Toronto. Patience and persistence are required. My best success was trolling Wylie lures at around 4-5 mph. Fight is exciting but brief. Beware of teeth before releasing all fish. Google Wylie Lures.

My great grandfather was a blacksmith in the Civil War with General Sherman on his march through Georgia, got sick with something, was sent home because the war was almost over but didn't receive his discharge papers, went back home to Minnesota, impregnated his wife with my grandpa, then died, leaving a widow and several children with no cash. So my great grandmother kept the farm as best she could with her batch of kids. Later my grandfather and his family moved from Minnesota to Oregon right after World War 1. My great aunt Mindy, who was the oldest child and kept the farm in Minnesota running in Minnesota, moved to Oregon with the family, never did trust the government, was not a pleasant person to be around.

Sad but very Interesting. Tribes in the southwest in that era were able to move to Mexico to evade US cavalry.

Great day driving new roads, new views, catching at least one fish. Couldn’t ask for a better day off.

For sea perch in the surf go out at low tide and look for low spots, then cast to those spots on incoming tide. Don’t need to cast way way out, the perch are in the surf closer than you think.

Do saugeye taste as good as walleye? Walleye are the best tasting fish of all in my book.

One source you should check out is Ifish, a chat room for fishers that centers on Oregon and Washington but contains some comments and info from Northern California. Good luck and stay safe.

I am a military veteran, 6 years in USArmy 1968 to 1974. I support the military, and civilian police forces as well. I admire anyone who protects US citizens from the rioters out there pulling down statues, breaking windows, etc.
