Currently in Johnston Co. just outside Raleigh. Soon to be moving back to Duplin co. I used to hunt Hyde co years ago with Hydeland Hunting club. Fished the lake up there and the big and little alligators.

I have worn out and thrown away a cheap spinner with bushings instead of bearings in less than one day of serious croaker fishing. You don't always get what you pay for but you never get quality that you didn't pay for. That being said the most expensive does not always make it the best.

When you decide to bite the bullet and get some swivels don't go cheap spend a little extra and get the bearing swivels they spin more freely, are much stronger, and you will never again suffer from line twist. It will be the best money you ever spend fishing.

If your in clear water Crappie can be spooked cause they see your line . Use as small a line as you can and a color that disappears or is hard to see in the water. Also tie your tackle so your jig moves freely for a better presentation of your lures.

Crappie can be picky about color too. Check your water color and pay attention to the colors that are working for others on that water.

Saltwater trout have paper thin mouth and if your try to horse them in you just wind up ripping it out of his mouth.

I'm with you WhiskerKnight , I'd rather fight him in the water instead of in the boat. It's more about the fun of the fight than fish count for me.

Hi guys , I just found your page yesterday and thought I'd give it a try. I'm located in eastern NC. My primary fishing now is fresh water creeks rivers and mill ponds or lakes. I've been out of fishing for years and just now getting back into it. Looking forward to sharing information to better our experience in this great pass time.

The bugs can't stand peppermint, that's why it works so good.

I fish a small creek boat and move a lot. My fishing is two fold in that I enjoy the scenery as much as the fishing. I will look for and work the structure in an area and if I don't get any bites move on to the next spot.
