Ticks are horrible this year from big deer ticks to seed ticks it's gotta be the worst I've seen! What will help keep them off you or at least kill them if they do get on you?

I wear long light colored pants and long sleeve shirts. Pants tucked into socks and boots if it the terrain warrants it. DEET containing insect repellents help as well . I like the cover them in a bit of Vaseline if they are attached

i don't know how healthy it is but in tick season here in montana i will take my work/hunting/fishing clothes and spray them with "home defense" bug spray. any bugs that touch your clothes will die. usually good for at least a couple of washings too.

I always wonder; if it kills bugs, what does it do to you? Years ago I was spaying a tree for bugs by using a step ladder placed in a flower bed. I noticed a grass snake below my ladder as I was coming down. I hit the snake with the insecticide as I stepped off the ladder. It never moved, it died instantly. I went and put my mask and rubber gloves on, and then finished the job.

don't know and don't care ,, the home defense spray says safe for pets and people after it dries and i'm 70 years old, had 16 surgeries, 3 heart attacks, 9 heart stints put in , rattlesnake bit , shot, stabbed , wrecks, etc., so,, i am gonna die from something anyway,, if it's bug spray that's o.k.!! i know it works !!

Wow, with all that you have survived, I don’t think you need a bug spray cologne..... those ticks gonna see you and run

one other thing i use besides home defense is a little strange maybe but in the 50 years i have been using it i have never had a bug attach to me and that is Dr. Bonners peppermint soap,, you can get it at most health food stores,, use it for laundry, dishes, camping, toothpaste and it keeps the bugs away if you use it every day when ya shower.. read the label too,, it's a kick in the shorts !!

once ya try it you will be impressed.. i buy it by the gallon and it will last about a year,, and if you use it fulll strength keep it away from SENSITiVE areas !! when you use it for camping even if you don't get all the soap washed off you or your dishes it won't give you explosive stomach problems as it is digestible..
