Frozen sardines. I was wondering what you used to coax him into your frying pan. I'll have to give that one a try.
Never caught a freshwater cat. Only saltwater and they are poisonous.
Ok, I give up. What are dough balls good for? Is that for fishing up north. Haven't seen anyone doing that "down yonder."
Oddly enough I started with a baitcaster so when I was handed a spinning reel I thought it strange to have the steering wheel on the wrong side. Seeing it was kind of awkward for me my brother bought me a Penn reel configured for a leftie. Problem solved. Nobody laughed so I kept up fishing that way. The fish were the only ones amused. Life is good with a wet line anyhow.
That trout tout looks pretty old. So does the rest of the tackle. I'll bet they are good for catching fish, although I've snagged a few fingers on the red head. Darn it. Practly ruined my day.
Neat. I've never seen such a rig. Thanks for sharing. I would bet it would make bluefish go crazy!
Don't let that barn get you. Are they hitting deep?
As soon as you see the splash from your bait, break the spool with your thumb. That is after you set it up properly for the weight of your bait. This works for every brand reel that I have ever used as each have their own personality. Also, using too light weight line will cause a bird's nest every time.
Hehehe. Killed a lot of those, too. There were times I would have been better off eating my bait. Come to think of it, I don't recall anything talking about scrimping or crabbing. Isn't that fishing as well?
Great technique. Now to practice on somebody.
Thank you, camT. Wouldn't mind a few prayers sent my way if y,all can spare a few. Going in for neck surgery on Friday. Will be dream fishing for a while. See you on the other side.
I like that the gals step up in a stereotypical male sport. Welcome fishing gals and shy guys. Where did that smiley face go? :) Come on, let's go drown some worms!
Sending prayers, my friend.
Be at peace knowing your friends and family are praying for you.
I've enjoyed reading the posts, so I thought I'd get on board with an account. I love to fish, even more, catching fish, and not a bad cook as well. I will upload a picture in the near future. Looking forward to being involved with the posts.
