"In Wyoming, if you can legally own a firearm, you can carry."
What do states find confusing about the phrase "shll not be infringed"? According to the second amendment, owning a firearm is legal, period. There is no prohibition even for freed felons or crazies. If you can't be trusted to be armed, you shouldn't be running around loose.

If you carry or are considering it, a smart thing to do is check out ( Concealed Carry University), Pat Kilchermans Program. It will save you from getting killed plus save you money from buying the wrong gun for Concealed Carry Self Protection. As far as storing your gun in your Car or anywhere else just keeps it in a place where criminals or anyone else could have access to it without your control. The safest place to keep it is Right ON YOU in a Kydex Claw Style Holster in an Appendix Position. As far as Gun Free Zones? They're just Free Victim Zones. Unless there is a Metal Detector or X-Ray System, Ignore the Sign and Save your own Life and the Lives of other First. Better to be Judged by 12 than Carried by Six. NOTE: A Concealed Carry Person who does not invest in a TRAINING Program is a danger to themselves and to other Innocent People. Check out (CONCEALED CARRY UNIVERSITY) l go over the 7 CDs every six months or so just to refresh myself. Be a Sheep Dog, Not a Sheep.
Lived 30 years on the “rough” side of town, traveled the world for business and pleasure including 3rd world backwaters, communist and socialist, pacific and Asian, big cities all over, (20 million people), border cities like Juarez, been shook down by the police 3 times in 2 different countries, have a cabin in a northern province where we drink out of the lake and poop in the woods and see bears and moose regularly and have never, ever needed a CCW. In fact if I had one any situation I have been thru would have been made worse. And I am not the luckiest SOB on earth. Ditch the gun.

Have cc permit, sometimes I take it along. If I leave in the car, it will be in the trunk...per the advice of my policeman son-in-law.

How many of us carry a handgun in our tackle? Whether it’s authorized or not.
I carry concealed all the time. I have a small 9mm, Kimber Micro 9, that I carry in my pocket. Nobody has ever asked if it was a gun in my pocket. I do have a concealed carry license as well. I'm one of them old Marines that still prepares for the worst and hopes for the best. At home I keep a Remington 870 Tactical locked and loaded with #4 buckshot. Some would say that I'm paranoid but I live by myself way back in the woods. 911 is anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes out.
I was a certified NRA Personal Protection instructor and Chief Training Officer in my gun club. I hope I don't ever have to use my firearms or my training but I don't want to get caught unprepared. These are troubling times.

I'll be 80 in a few days . I have carried for over 60 years. Sometimes concealed sometimes open. In our state we can still carry while in any fishing, hunting or hiking activity without a permit. We travel to Idaho a lot and they are a lot more gun friendly.

I have a permit, but I just leave the pistol in the car. No need to have it around here, LaCrosse, WI., maybe.
Like having a spare tire, but leaving it at home.

How do you get on and off post while carrying? Most bases/posts are forbidding arms bearing.
Realize how you asked your question. I think in the older days many kept a shooter in their tackle box but these days it seems more the practice to open or conceal carry if at all.
I live in NH, VT, ME,NH have open carry conceal carry with no permit so lucky me I can start the day with a sweatshirt on and end it in a tee shirt and have my gun all day.
Ok, let me try this again. You know your going say to a lake, you know at the ramp is a sign that says no firearms, out of respect for the lake manager, do you take your gun with you that’s in a tackle box or do you lock it in some sort of compartment in the vehicle? True that the fish are no threat, just getting an idea of what we would do. Myself, I would take it so as to know where it is.
