Triple Fuel Carburetor is for LP / Natural Gas / Gasoline

That'd be "the way to go" here, in the Dirty City; 'cause EVERY house (or darn NEAR) has natural gas service!

So if there wasn’t a carburetor......what would a person adjust when “there was a carburetor adjustment “?

It’s a special Carburetor that is for duel fuel. Gasoline/LP

I didn't say that there WASN'T a carburetor... Just that; as far as I'm AWARE; it was just your regular Ol' Rochester carb.

We Auto Shop Junkies Call those RottenChesters. I guarantee if an Engine ran on Propane and Gas it was a Duel Fuel LP/Gas carb. It is not a stock carb. LP has different BTU rating. It is also already pressurized. I failed many Trucks that had extremely HIGH readings when they switched to Propane for second portion of a Duel Fuel Commercial Vehicle Emissions year.

I tested cars in beginning of career but very quickly was promoted into Maintenance and did a huge variety of tasks.

Electronics...was my final main task. Welding. Research and Development. Dynamometer Repair and Modifications until they were removed.

Forklift Training. I am currently disabled and will probably never work again. If I do anything at all around house or yard it takes 3 or 4 days on the couch or bed to be able to do much of anything including fishing. I really miss being young and agile

I really can't "swear to" the exact carb David had on his truck... I think that his uncle (who was a REAL-LIVE "Shade tree Mechanic") had modified the fuel supply options... I don't even know if these guys are alive or dead... Ain't seen Uncle Henry since the late 1980's and ain't seen David, since the mid-late 1990's!

Actually when the did our conversions the lpg went through the same line as the gas, they had shut off valves to direct each one and a switch to change on the dashboard. When the log level got low just switch over and give it some throttle.

Yeah, Ronniejw, I'm pretty sure that this guy had a "knob and a switch" right there in the cab, of that pick'em-up truck.

If a person could have a jet for Propane and a jet for gasoline they could probably use a 4 barrel and modify the throttle linkage to use primary for one fuel and secondary for other fuel but conversions and replacement duel fuel carbs were not crazy expensive. Many fleets used them for simplicity of having Propane in remote locations for refueling. From what I remember the drivers of the duel fuel trucks they always complained that propane efficiency really sucked.

We had Natural Gas Vehicles. That ran on Natural Gas only. We had to drive them back to special locations for fuel twice a day if we drove much. Natural gas also emits formaldehyde. Yup all the bogus ads about Nat Gas being so great... it’s not the green movement it’s the Natural Gas Companies trying to convince the public. Nat Gas is cheap but it still releases formaldehyde but you won’t hear them admitting it to you. I was told by a scientist when we had the Nat gas vans for maintenance crew to use. Those vans sucked. We couldn’t take them to our facilities that are few hundred miles away. Only could use them locally in big city.

Scientist warned us to not run the vans and think they don’t emit anything bad.

Environmental Scientists would rather have several small environmental issues than just a few really BAD environmental issues. I was like oh OK. In other words several small issues can be dealt with but huge problems can probably never get under control

¡Whoa!... Formaldehyde is some pretty "noxious" stuff! ... Was NOT aware of THAT! ... ¿Another case of "the cure being worse than the disease"?

Worked with formaldehyde for 20 years, can be bad when its fuming. Most of the cupboards in homes are made with glues that stick the plywood or chipboard together.

YUP. And when the house is finished and ready to be occupied the Contractor or Home Builder etc put a warning on your counter stating to open windows a lot for a few years and the fumes cause cancer. Nothing people think of when buying a NEW home. The cheap wood is full of it.

I have seen them. With electric to control everything and today’s electronics can avoid losing traction and all the horsepower goes to wheel except bearing parasitics. Can put max HP to wheels and tires and sensors can tell within a nanosecond if a wheel is losing traction just like today’s street cars powered by any fuel. Traction control and anti-lock brakes utilize same technology.

They are not for me. What happens if the batteries run down on the road? It's not like a regular car where u add a gallon or 2 and you are on your way again.

Been telling people this for quite some time! Even if we could make enough electricity too run all this great new stuff, which we can't, our Infrastructure can in no way support it!
